Michelle Marquardt lives in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney with her husband and two children and works as a veterinarian.
Her first novel, Blue Silence (Random House 2002), won the George Turner Prize and was shortlisted for the Aurealis and Ditmar awards. She has published a number of short stories and was co-editor, with Bill Congreve, of The Years Best Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy, volumes one to four (MirrorDanse Books).
