Unconditional Love

“So this is labor”, Jennifer groaned as her body spasmed and heaved. The creatures surrounding her vibrated as one in anticipation of the birth. With a final heave, the alien baby was born. One look at the hideous hybrid; a “thing” she couldn’t keep and Jennifer’s heart ached because finally, she knew unconditional love.

Resurrection

Midnight. He knelt by her grave waiting for her. All Soul’s Eve, when she would come back to him. He had to explain that the knife had slipped. Would she believe him?

The others had. He smiled.

Forever

It was said that love not freely given was not love at all, but he didn’t care.

He watched as she slept, the moonlight casting her pale skin with an eerie blue hue. He would give them both an eternity, he thought, as he leaned down, fangs bared, and pierced her skin with his bite.

Love Eternal

“You promised you’d be mine for eternity,” he said, adding the shovelful of dirt to the pile. “And I mean for you keep that promise.”

Tossing the shovel aside, he wrestled with the coffin until his fiancée was once again in his arms.

“There, there, beloved,” he crooned. “The preacher’s waiting for us.”

On the Edge

Standing on the cliff under a full October moon, he thought of her; imagined he could feel her caress, whisper soft across his face. She’d loved him, and all he had was a ghostly reminder of her touch.

Dead by his hand, her spirit whirled about with a vengeance…and drove him over the edge.

Love Letters

Cara’s head drooped between outstretched arms which were manacled to the doorway.

“These are the words you wouldn’t listen to,” Max said as he carved with an exacto knife on her back. “I’ve loved you forever.”

Hypnotized by the steady drip of blood on the dirt floor, she moistened cracked lips and said, “Love hurts.”

The Haunted House

I’m 55 and I live alone. My place is near a haunted house. An uninhabited villa with a grey facade.

Today I looked at the house, but a window was open. And somebody mowed the lawn in the backyard!

From my window I watch a woman about 40, she looks like one who likes reading.

Love Has No Bones

Cynthia loved food and had never had a problem with being fat, she just had heavy bones. That’s where Dr. Neila came in. He was a self-professed expert in weight loss without changing eating habits. Somehow he had heard of Cynthia’s plight on Facebook and knew exactly what to do for her. Jellyfish.

A Father’s Love

The young woman hung naked from a rafter in the barn.

“Please,” she begged. “Please let me go.”

“You don’t understand,” Harold said, tearfully. “They’re my children. I love them.”

Hungry growls rose from a deep, black pit as he lowered her down.

“They have to eat.”

Harold walked away as the feeding frenzy began.
