Parallels
A series of misfortunes had reduced him to want. His camp within a sparse copse of trees made manifest from which inherent evil could draw their nutrition. He pulled at the blanket of oblivion failing to conceal his past. Sleep did not come easily that night. It would be a long while before it did.
Liam O’Hare.

Roger
The top of his ears were thin and you could see pink light through them. They were flimsy and fragile, like his personality. His wife would brow beat him, and constantly nag, but would linger when she would pull on her panties–a little slower than normal.
They found her, suffocated, with her own underclothes.

42 and Life to Go
He runs like he’s never run before, wild and free no walls, no man within a hundred feet of him, the open air the sound of branches crushed by hard charging steps as his legs spirit him further and further from what he thought would be forever. Then a single shot and he dies free.

The Apatheia
There would be only twelve survivors on this ship. Apatheia being the smallest ship in the fleet, toke the people who had stayed till the last. They remained behind to guide the survivors through the process of leaving Earth. Storms had decimated what was left of the major metropolitan cities.
Virginia Johnston-Dodds.

A Pirate’s Legacy
In search of adventure,
my lord, Prince Richard,
fled his father’s tyranny.
I, possessing adequate skill with steel,
vowed to protect his Excellency,
from scoundrels, rogues and villainy.
I found surprisingly,
I possessed a talent for piracy.
After many years at sea,
I’ve become a legacy
and now the Prince
and other rascals follow me!

Over The Top
She held her breath as she reached the point of no return. Knowing what was to come she braced herself just before the release. Her scream started out silently but ended in a blood curdling outburst that would make your skin shiver. Roller Coaster!

Everest
His fingers grasped the crumbling rocks. He heard them trickle down the crevasse below. The sounds echoed for a long time, accentuating the height they had to fall. Eyes closed for a brief second to gather courage, he forged ahead, the summit finally within sight.
“Timmy, get off the top of the refrigerator!”
“Awwww Mom.”

Galactic Spice Tour
Boot-deep, harvesting Medi-cure spices on the vermilion plains of Orestes, WingStar Ezra Morgan missed home. In the galaxy, Earth was a pebble lost in alien skies. Why had he stepped forward? To pilfer spices? Cure the wife he left behind? Ezra watched the two suns of Orestes shut like bloodshot eyes beneath the spice horizon.

The Ruins
Miguel gently placed his hands against the wall of the ancient temple, knowing it could talk.
Wiping away the dust, he erased the layers of time.
He pressed his cheek against the cool stone and breathed in the past.
“Speak,” he whispered in the old way.
Miguel closed his eyes and waited for the voices.

Dreams
Adventures begin,
in unconscious thoughts I live out my dreams,
Pleasures deep, pleasures within
Sometimes woken by frightful screams.
Do anything!
Be anyone!
You can sing!
You can chase, you can run!
Don’t let your dreams fade like the sun,
Wake up and chase them!
Your life will begin,
when you feel the passion within.
