HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Wishing a happy and prosperous new year to all! Many fun and exciting things happening in 2013. Streaming Stars, Book 2 of the Transcender Trilogy will be released on Amazon within the next few days! Book 3 is due to be released before the end of the year. I'm also collaborating on a screenplay--a whole new experience for me. And contemplating a new book series, which should be very different from Transcender.
Hope we are all able to exceed our goals in 2013, and continute to live our wildest dreams!

New Transcender Cover and Book Trailer
I'm thrilled to have unveiled the new book cover for TRANSCENDER: First-Timer today. I was never really satisfied that the original cover adequately conveyed the feeling of the story. The new cover nails it as far as I'm concerned. Most of the retail sites have already replaced the old cover, but the new one has not shown up on Goodreads yet, a situation I am trying to rectify.
Also I've posted my first book trailer for Transcender which features the new cover. Please take a look at it when you have a minute and let me know what you think.
Both the cover and trailer were produced by the phenominal Carrie Drazek Productions, and I couldn't be happier.
Of course the readers are what really matters. I hope you like them!

Looking For Great YA Paranormal Fantasy?
Check out the "Quick Picks" on Elizabeth Corrigan's blog Wading Through EInk. She's an intelligent reviewer with a wicked sense of humor. Her mission is to "winnow out the diamonds from the dust" in self-published YA paranormal. I've picked up a few new ebooks from her recommendations, and so far her reviews seem to be dead on.

To Review or Not to Review ...
I'm happy to say I was able to steal some time to read over the holidays, and I’m adding a number of books to my Goodreads shelf today. I feel obliged to comment on the fact that, for the majority of these books, I am not assigning a rating or writing a review.* I enjoyed reading each and every one of these works (otherwise, I would not have finished them), but I am reticent to rate and review books within roughly the same genre as my own TRANSCENDER (i.e., YA Fantasy). Call me squeamish, but it just seems bad form somehow.
As a relatively new author, I know how incredibly difficult the writing process is and how much effort goes into coaxing a finished manuscript out of the germ of a story idea—and that’s only fraction of the larger process of bringing a book to publication, and actually selling copies. Consequently, I believe every author who has lovingly cultivated a book to completion and successfully delivered it to the marketplace deserves my praise and admiration.
I’m grateful for every honest review of TRANSCENDER; because it helps me better understand what resonates with readers and what falls flat. Reviews have always been an integral part of the world of literature, and I frequently read a few before purchasing a book. So I hope those of you who follow my reviews will forgive me this little idiosyncrasy. I'll continue to rate and review books that fall outside of the YA Fantasy genre.
*Since rules are made to be broken (don’t tell my kids I said that), I have given a five-star rating to Maggie Stiefvater’s The Scorpio Races, and I’ve written a short review. In my opinion, this book stood out from all the rest. I highly recommend it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Just wanted to send out a big "Thank You" to all of you who made our Holiday Giveaway a wonderful success. I had intended to give away 100 copies of TRANSCENDER for Kindle, but was inundated with requests and ended up giving away over 300 copies to Goodreads members in seven different countries! What fun!
