Media Mixed
It’s been a while since I’ve had time to update this blog. Just too many things happening to have the time to write here. Unfortunately, editing Lost Temple was not one of the things eating up most of my free time.
However, I’m going to try to post more regularly (building the author brand and all that glop).

Apocalypse vs Utopia
(Hieronymus Bosch “Visions of Hell” vs. Robert McCall, “The Prologue and the Promise”)
I posted another excerpt from The Alchemy of World and Soul. This one is about Apocalypse vs. Utopia. It starts like this:
The sunshine was like an ocean of light, drowning everything beneath the sky, washing out the green of the fields, and distorting the fences in the distance with its heat.

RIP Jerry Pournelle
Found out late last night that Jerry Pournelle passed away a few days ago on the 8th of September. The news left me saddened. I’ve been meaning to write him a note ever since I reread Lucifer’s Hammer last summer to mention the influence he (and Larry Niven) had on me as a boy.

What I Listen to While Writing
I’ve been silent because I’ve been writing. I’ve finally finished the first draft of RSG Volume 2, called for now The Lost Temple. It’s a little over 300,000 words right now. I’ll trim some and add some (for the Miscellany at least).
Hopefully now that I’m editing I’ll have a little more brain space for blogging and social media things.

What I’ve Been Watching Lately
A few of the things I’ve been watching lately.
Doctor Strange
I saw this twice in a row (because my wife fell asleep the first time) and I loved it just as much the second time through. Benedict Cumberbatch is cornering the market o hyper-intelligent, arrogant characters who are somehow likeable in spite of being jerks.

What I’ve Been Watching Lately
A few of the things I’ve been watching lately.
Penny Dreadful
I find this to be one of those shows I like so much that I dole out episodes. Especially after I learned that season 3 would be the last in the series. I loved everything about this show even when I hated something.

What I’m Listening To
A few of the things I’m listening to this week.
Doyle Bramhall II – Rich Man
I’ve been waiting for 16 years for Doyle Bramhall’s to release a new album. I loved Welcome and have all his other music. He’s brilliant. The new album is worth the wait. But I hope he picks up the pace.

The Onaia Gazetteer
The Onaia Gazetteer –– your guide to the world of Realms of Shadow and Grace — is finally posted to the website. Although both the Onaia Gazetteer and the Miscellany of Artefacts are available in The Dragon Star, I decided it would be good to have them on the website as I start to expand them with the second novel in the series.
