Ripper, as in Jack The: Featured Book & Contest

While I really, really don't enjoy the "paranormalization" of classic literature--although I realize there are lots of people who enjoy Romeo and Juliet as vampires--I do like a nice rewriting of history to include paranormal elements.

So I've been looking forward to today's featured book, even though I've gotten a little burned out on YA lately. Author Amy Carol Reeves has taken on Victorian London and Jack the Ripper! And while it has some of the "why is it that only a teenager can bring dow...

Come & See Me in Atlanta!

I'll be at Eagle Eye Bookshop in Decatur, Ga., tomorrow (Saturday April 28) at 2 p.m., reading from Royal Street, giving out bribes swag, showing some Katrina photos...you know, all the fun stuff. PLEASE don't make me sit there with only my relatives. Come on by!

Yeah, yeah, this is me, begging. Did I mention bribes swag?

You can learn more about the bookstore, including its location in the metro Atlanta area, HERE.

And if you'd like to see an accounting of the book tour...

Royal Street Chapter 1, with New Easter Eggs

The enhanced version of Chapters 1-3 of Royal Street have been up at the tor.com website for a while HERE, but I wanted to put extra enhanced versions up on this site as well. Each Wednesday I'll be running a new chapter's worth of behind-the-scenes comments. So next Wednesday, tune in for annotations on Chapter 2. Of course, after chapter three, I won't actually be running the text of the book, but will identify where in your book you can find the text that is annotated.

I think it will be l...

Q&A with Gabi Stevens & win WISHFUL THINKING

First, a request. If you have read Royal Street and haven't already done so, please go to the Amazon link Here and scroll down to leave a customer review. Doesn't have to be much, but only after a certain number (I think 40) of reviews are logged will Amazon add the book to some of its "recommended" emails. Yeah, even if you hated it :-). Thank you!

Also, today I'm over at author John Scalzi's blog taking over the  "Big Idea" column and talking about the challenges of writing ab...
