Carol Marlene Smith was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on a hot August day. From an early age, writing, drawing and singing were her favourite things to do. Carol was a loner who liked to imagine her friends rather than make real ones.
She writes novels of romance and mystery/suspense, also mainstream and literary.

However, during that time I did write…moreI very rarely have writer's block. I did have a period back in 2000 where I did not write fiction for ten years. However, during that time I did write non-fiction and worked as a freelance writer and also copywriter, so the block was only for fiction. Once I began writing fiction again, I have never had writer's block except while writing a novel where you don't know exactly what is coming next or how to take it forward. During that time I do other things, garden, sing, paint. These activities give my mind a rest and before long the ideas necessary to continue my novel just come to me. (less)
