Karin Kaufman grew up devouring murder mysteries, especially of the cozy kind. Give her a mystery, a comfy couch, her sweet dog at her side, and (preferably) a rainy day, and she’s in heaven. She’s the author of the Juniper Grove Cozy Mystery Series, the Smithwell Fairies Cozy Mystery Series, and the Anna Denning Mystery Series. The Witch Tree, the first book in her Anna Denning series, was a finalist for a Grace Award. Karin has also written two children's book, The Adventures of Geraldine Woolkins and More Adventures of Geraldine Woolkins.

I love hearing that you devoured the first ten. :-) Book 11 will be coming out in the late spring. I took a little hiatus from the Juniper Grove series to work on my Smithwell Fairies series and on another Geraldine Woolkins book. But I'm definitely getting back to Juniper Grove, and I plan to keep writing that series as long as people keep reading it!(less)

Juniper Grove Continues!

It’s been a while since my last Juniper Grove cozy mystery, but finally book 11, Still as Death, is available for preorder on Amazon. I’ve been asked if the Juniper Grove series will continue, and my answer is yes! As long as people want to read about Rachel, Julia, Gilroy, and their friends, I’ll continue to write the series. When I sit down at my desk to write a Juniper Grove book, I feel as if

I’ve enjoyed all of Heather Day Gilbert’s mysteries, but this may be my favorite yet. It combines dogs and coffee, a great cast of characters, an engaging mystery, and a terrific amateur sleuth.

“I don't have any big adventures."
"But of course you have big adventures," Papa said. You have adventures of all sorts, all the time."
"Not like Radish in the Book of Tales," Geraldine said, scuffing a toe along the ground. "I could never be like Radish."
"No, you don't have adventures exactly like Radish," Papa said. "But that's because you're not Radish and you must have your own adventures. All creatures must."
"Happy ones?" Geraldine asked.
"In the end, yes. But they won't all seem that way at first. They'll have unexpected twists and turns. You must let them play out to the end, like a story in the Book of Tales. Follow God, speak to him and listen to him, and all tales will be beautiful in their time.”
Karin Kaufman, The Adventures of Geraldine Woolkins

“She’d passed sentence on God two years ago, and she fed her doubts of Him daily, taking care they didn’t shrivel and die.”

“…though I wouldn’t have admitted it, even to myself, I didn’t want God aboard. He was too heavy. I wanted Him approving from a considerable distance. I didn’t want to be thinking of Him.
