Meredith Trede grew up in Upper Manhattan, attended Hunter College High School on the East Side, then went upstate to SUNY Oneonta. She taught French and Spanish at Unatego and Milford Central Schools. After many years in Sleepy Hollow, NY, she recently relocated to the heart of Manhattan.

Tenement Threnody is her newest collection of poems, published by Main Street Rag Press. Field Theory, from SFA Press was her first full-length collection. A co-founder of Toadlily Press, her chapbook, Out of the Book, was in the inaugural Quartet Series.

Her many journal publications include Barrow Street, The Cortland Review, Gargoyle and The Paris Review. She has been granted residency fellowships at Blue Mountain Center, Ragdale, Saltonstall, VCCA, and
