Karen Hugg writes nonfiction and fiction inspired by plants. Her background is in horticulture and her passion is living green things. Her aim is to entertain and inspire readers. She's a certified ornamental horticulturalist and Master Pruner. She's also a graduate of the Goddard MFA program.

Her book, Leaf Your Troubles Behind: How to Destress and Grow Happiness Through Plants , explores how plants can help our mental health.

I have too many ideas and not enough time to write them all. I do sometimes get stuck in my decision-making when I write, but I find if I walk away and allow myself to puzzle over the problem, I find the answer in a day or so. Another fun thing is you can engage in this organic, creative process that happens not only at the keyboard but in your head at eleven at night or while driving or doing dishes.
