Mmmmmmaybe.....

I can't seem to lock down an idea for a novel. Sure, I have all sorts of novels I want to write, but I can't seem to gather enough steam to start one.

Instead, I'm going to take a shot at some short stories. I have all of these ideas jotted down, dozens of them. They pop into my head, I write them down, and move on. And they gather dust, some of them for years. I think I'm going to start using them for short stories, and gather up an anthology to publish.

I think I have it...

I think... I might just have a book forming in my head. Maybe, just maybe.

Not dead

Nope, I'm not dead, even if this website sorta is. To be honest, it's been a rough year, and I haven't touched N7 in a long time. It's not that the book itself is the issue, but other aspects of my life. I will get back to it, probably over Christmas.

On a related note (stick with me, here!) I have started streaming my gaming, which is sorta fun. I don't offer commentary or anything like that, at least not yet. So, what has this to do with writing? I plan on streaming some of my writing. I'll post here in advance when I do, with a link to my twitch page. You don't need to sign in or anything, just go to the page and watch.

Granted, watching me write for a 6-8 hour session won't be thrilling, but the first hour or so might be, since that is when I most often write, re-write, and then re-re-write. So, if nothing else, you can see the process in action. After I get the first page or so down, I usually burn through the rest of the chapter fairly quickly.

I won't stream myself writing the entire book (though perhaps I'll do that some day for a short story), but selected chapters. It will be an interesting experiment. Harlan Ellison once set up shop in the store front window of a book store for a day, as a way to show people that writing was, in fact, a job that required real work. This is along the same lines.

Slooooooow

I have two chapters of N7 finished. Alright, alright, I know; two chapters is like two writing sessions, right? Yeah, I'm being slow. Sorry. I want this one to come out well, and I'm trying not to force it. I am hoping to get another chapter done this weekend. In the next month or so, I hope to dig in and get at least half of the book done. Still, I would be very surprised to see this one finished before the summer.

Ever so close, and Goodreads

I now have the ISBN number for The Ambassador's Clerk. I am awaiting the final bits of administration, and then it goes up for sale. As Amazon and iTunes and all the rest post it for sale, I will say so here.

Also, I have put myself on goodreads.com, where this blog will cross-post. So if you like my books, feel free to leave a review! (And if you don't like it, again, feel free to leave a review!)
