However, I find that writer's block is often my cue to go back to prayer and let the Lord refresh and re-inspire me. I want to receive and release His counsel.

Sometimes the block is there because there is something more He wants to teach me before I am ready to share any thoughts on that particular subject. That could take hours, days, or even months, in rare cases, to work through. If I patiently wait it out, when I do get the urge to move forward again, what I have to say will be much more useful for my readers than if I had pressed forward on my own.(less)

A little bit off in the early chapters, but very confused and perhaps demented by the end of the book.

I enjoyed Che Ahn's story of how God has led him and performed miracles in his life. The case he made for prayer and fasting was also very good. For those things, I would give the book 5 stars.

The pitch for dominionism (Kingdom Now) was pretty heavy

Perhaps you already know that God wants you to start a prayer group, but the very idea is daunting. You may wonder where to begin, how to get people to come, and whether you have the "right stuff" to lead others in prayer.

I have read all of the Holly books thus far, after getting hooked on this first one in the series.

“My prayer time alone with the Lord Jesus is more important than any other thing I do each day. There in the secret place, the devil's plans are shattered and God's victories are won, evil is thwarted and blessings are unleashed, sicknesses are overcome and sin is denied its sway over the lives of the weak. Our God is an answering God.”

“God is more concerned with our character than with our achievements. Achievements have importance only in the realm of time. Character is eternal. It determines what we will be through eternity.”
