Top Ten Authors I'd Put on My Auto-Buy List
Yes, I too have authors that I'd definitely put on my auto-buy list! I love reading just as much as I love writing! Although, sometimes one takes up way more time than the other!
Here's 3 of the authors that I'd put on my auto-buy list! (The full list is on my blog Writer Girl in LA !):
1. Meg Cabot- She had me at Princess Diaries and I love her adult mystery series starting with Size 12 Isn't Fat. There are still a few books of hers that I haven't read, so hopefully that auto-buy list can include them too!
2. Suzanne Collins - I loved The Hunger Games and I hear that her Gregor the Overlander series is great too! I'd definitely be up for being on an auto-buy list for her books!
3. Julie Kagawa - I'm in the middle of The Immortal Rules, but I also really, really, really want to read her Iron Fey series!
And, that's 3!!! I wish I could just read and read and read and....
If you want to read the rest of my picks check out: Writer Girl in LA: Top Ten Authors I'd Put on My Auto-Buy List !

Doppelganger Book Trailer!
It's the Doppelganger Book Trailer! This was such fun to make! Enjoy! And, a big thank you to Brett Gilbert for his help and Royalty Free Music Room for the super awesome music!
About Doppelganger:
Citrus Leahy is having a really bad day. First she's late to school. Then she runs into the girl who drives her nuts because she always calls her Orange instead of her name. To cap it all off, when Citrus finally makes it to class, she sees herself already inside. Wait. What? Citrus Leahy has a doppelganger! It's probably aliens taking over the world and her life has just turned totally upside down. Goodbye, normal. Hello, paranormal! Luckily, her crush Aedan has the exact same problem!
Doppelganger is available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Itunes, Sony, Kobo, and more! It is available both as an ebook and as a paperback.

Happy Valentine's Day and My Top 10 Favorite Romances!
Happy Valentine's Day! If you've got a significant other - enjoy the romance! And, if you're single, do something fun - like watch horror movies or be really silly, wear red, and celebrate by hanging out with your friends! I always remember being a kid and making Valentine's Day boxes and writing cards for the other kids in class - it was just a fun holiday...so make it fun! Okay, so I'm a romantic and Valentine's Day is all about that - sigh, swoon, and let mushy gushyness ensue! :)
As for me...I got married on Valentine's Day...so I'll be celebrating a wedding anniversary!!!! Woo-hoo!
On that note, here are my favorite romances!!!! I love reading romances and some of my list is romances in books that aren't romances because I think those books were just as fun to read to see how the romances turned out even if they were originally something else.
The full list of my Top 10 Favorite Romances is on my blog Writer Girl in LA ! Top 10 Tuesday is an internet meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and I try to participate every Tuesday!
Here are my top 3 favorite romances:
1. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen - It's a classic romance. Who doesn't swoon at the chemistry between Lizzie and Mr. Darcy!!!!
2. The Host by Stephanie Meyer - This wouldn't necessarily make my true top 10 romances list, but I'm adding it here because I thought the romance was truly fascinating. Two characters in the same body and two men who are in love with each of them! FASCINATING romance idea!
3. Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe from The Anne of Green Gables Books by Lucy Maude Montgomery - I fell for this romance the moment Gilbert called Anne carrots and she smashed a slate over his head. It took them a long time to get together, but it always felt like such a real romance to me - sometimes it's hard to forget someone's faults and it's easy to be jealous and sometimes friendship and romance get a little intermixed. I love their story!
That's only 3 of my 10! To see the rest check out the full post on my blog W riter Girl in LA: Top 10 Favorite Romances!

New Book Cover for ADVENTURES IN FUNERAL CRASHING!
Adventures in Funeral Crashing (Funeral Crashing #1) book cover by Brett GilbertI love my new book cover for Adventures in Funeral Crashing ! Don't get me wrong, I loved the old one too. It was the simpleness that I liked, but it was time for a change. And, I love, love, love the change! It captures the original image I wanted and intermixes that with something fun because the book is really a mix of a bunch of things. Yes, it's about funerals, death, and murder, but it's also about a 16 year old girl who crushes on the cutest guy in school and has issues with friends and popularity AND she's funny! Kait totally over thinks, obsesses, and is just a girl like any other girl - she just happens to like funerals and solving mysteries!
A shout out to my cover artist - Brett Gilbert - who rocks! Check out his design website: Super Cool Awesome Designs . He's also an artist and a comedian: Brett Gilbert Comedian/Artist.
Now, onto redesigning the cover for Adventures of a Graveyard Girl to match and of course, working on the cover for Funeral Crashing #3, which will be out in Spring 2013. I'll be tweeting/posting/facebooking a specific date on that soon!!!!!!
Just so you can compare, here's the old book cover for Adventures in Funeral Crashing. Totally different, right?:

New Top 10 List! Top 10 Best Bookish Memories!
Top 10 Best Bookish Memories - this was such a fun list to write. I have even more bookish memories than these top 10, but these were the first ones that came to me. It was really a great trip down memory lane.
Check out the full list of my Top 10 Best Bookish Memories on my blog Writer Girl in LA ! Top 10 Tuesday is an internet meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and I try to participate every Tuesday!
Here's 3 of my picks for top 10 bookish memories:
1. Amanda Hocking - Her success as an author was an inspiration to me to put my writing out there, unagented and without a publishing house. It had been sitting on my computer instead, as I queried endlessly (taking breaks from the rejections). She impacted my life in a big way and gave me a reason to take a chance AND to write, write, write! I now have a purpose! Yes, I know that her success is a million to one, but the thing is, even one or two people reading my books and loving them is a success to me. And, people are reading my books and that is quite simply amazing. Besides, someone has to win the lottery, right? :) Everyone should dream big and Amanda reminded me that I absolutely, should, no matter what the odds are against you. (Hey, if you're reading this an interested in my books - my first book (as of this posting) - ADVENTURES IN FUNERAL CRASHING is FREE on Amazon , Barnes & Noble , Itunes , Smashwords, & more! Just an FYI if you want to read it for free!!!)
2. The Shining by Stephen King - This is probably my best bookish memory. When I drove across country to California, moving there to pursue screenwriting dreams, we stopped in Estes Park, CO and stayed in the hotel where Stephen King wrote The Shining. It was so beautiful there and the hotel was wonderfully creepy. We even stayed in the room Stephen King stayed in while he was there. It was a great experience!
3. Willy Wonka and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl - Actually, this memory is way up there, along with my Shining memory. I loved movies as a kid and I also really liked books, so in general I thought books turned movies were AWESOME! I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and saw the original movie - loved them both! I wondered why they never made the sequel a movie, so I did something about it. I wrote to Michael Eisner at Disney. I was about 9 years old and they actually wrote back (and called me!). This is the response I got...
That's only 3 of my 10, well kind of, to see more check out the full post on my blog

New Top 10 List! Top 10 Most Frustrating Characters!!!!
I have definitely come across some characters in my reading that I'd love to throttle. There's even one or two in my writing that drive me crazy. A prime example of that being Ariel in Adventures in Funeral Crashing (still free as an ebook, btw!) because she can just be so mean and yet...maybe there's still a friendship there between her and Kait, so why is she being so mean?
Check out the full list of my Top 10 Most Frustrating Characters on my blog Writer Girl in LA ! Top 10 Tuesday is an internet meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and I try to participate every Tuesday!
Here's 3 of my picks:
1. Tally from Pretties & Uglies & Specials by Scott Westerfeld - Okay, by the time I got to Uglies, I was getting annoyed with her. I can't read Specials because I'm still mad. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Pretties, but sometimes I just didn't like Tally very much. I mean, I understand the horribleness she's going through - well, as much as I can since I don't live in that world, but still she started driving me crazy!
2. Dolores Umbridge from The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling - I was just so frustrated for Harry because when Dolores had him in his grip, he was powerless and she was oh, so evil! So, I was angry and frustrated for him.
3. Becky Bloomwood from the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella - Don't get me wrong - I love, love, love Becky, but she can get a little frustrating when she takes things too far! I laugh at first, but then it sometimes gets painful! Like, I'm in the middle of Mini Shopaholic and um, Becky, come on - don't make Luke's assistant hound him about you wanting to have another baby! The poor assistant! And, okay, maybe that's because I've done the whole assistant job, but still! Ahhhh! Frustrating!
