Here's the first part....


            Kait looked amazing. I knew I should decide what I was eating, but I couldn't focus on the menu in front of me. I couldn't stop looking at her. Why did she look amazing for Troy? He might be a serial killer.  She should have worn something more homely so he wouldn't be interested in her. How could she be wearing the sexiest dress I had ever seen for him? She was usually in jeans and a T-shirt or a conservative black dress. Why had she dressed up? It was just The Burger. I had to make sure Troy didn't get too close to her. I knew he'd want to. She looked beautiful. I had to protect her. She couldn't end up like Liz.             I glanced at Kait. She seemed absorbed in her menu. I willed her to look up, but she didn't. I wanted her green eyes to meet mine more than anything. Maybe I could convince her to stand Troy up. Seriously, what was so interesting about the milkshakes? I had to get her attention. Why was I suddenly tongue-tied?             Before I could get the words out, Troy was sliding into the booth next to her while checking her out. "Hey, Kait. You look awesome!"             I squeezed my hand into a fist. I wanted to grab Kait and leave, but I knew she'd never come with me now that Troy had arrived. I had missed my chance to whisk her away. Now I had to make it through this ridiculous double date. I tried to comfort myself with the thought that maybe we'd learn something more about Liz's murder, but it didn't help much. I was more anxious for Kait's safety. I wished I was the one sitting next to her.      “Thanks,” Kait said smiling back at Troy. “Oh, and this is Ethan.”            I couldn't look away from her smile. Why hadn't I noticed what a nice smile she had? Wait. She was smiling at Troy like that? Troy turned to look at me. I tried to make my face blank. I took a deep breath. If we had to do this we should do it right. It would only be worth it if we learned something about what happened to Liz. I focused on that and not what I hoped wasn't a lovesick look on Kait's face. She didn't like Troy did she? No. It had to be an act. I could act too.             I smiled as warmly as I could, "Hey, man."            "Ethan!" a girl squealed and I almost broke my smile.

For those of you here to find out more about the Doppelgangers series because you just raced your way through book #2...I know you must have one big question like:

When does Doppelganger 3 come out?!?!?!!?!
  
I actually don't have a for-sure date yet (mostly because I can never exactly tell how long it will take me to write a book and the Doppelganger series has taken me longer than some), but I'm shooting for the end of 2014. I've got a general outline and a few chapters started (because who could stop writing just after that ending!).

Still, I'm actually going to have a few books out before Doppelganger 3. First, there will be a Funeral Crashing Box Set (books 1-3) out at the end of July. I'll post release dates soon. It's going to have a few extra scenes from Ethan's POV. I'll be doing the same for a Doppelganger Box Set once all three books are written FYI. Then in August I'm hoping to release a NA chicklit book that I'm currently calling Crashing Prom. It's something I started a few years ago as a 3 Day Novel and I am just developing it a little more and fleshing out the characters. It's similar in style (fun, romance, in your head talk) to the Funeral Crashing and Doppelganger novels, but there's no mystery or paranormal. It's just a story about a girl who always regretted not going to her senior prom...and it's a really fun book! After that I'm hoping to release Funeral Crashing 4 in the fall. I'm outlining it right now and working on the mystery. I already know what happens to Kait & Ethan in the 6 books I have planned (and there might be more if people keep reading them!) and there will be big things going on between them in book 4!!!! Doppelganger 3 will come out after that and it should be the last book in the series. There's so much to write, though, that I'm feeling a little worried...might it be two books more? If it's only one, it's going to be a long one! And as the final book, all will be revealed! Who are the doppelgangers? Who will Citrus choose? Will the doppelgangers take over? It's going to be an action packed, romance filled, suspenseful ending to the series! I'm hoping to write it in the early fall. Fingers crossed.

MOVIE CAST IDEAS: 
Thinking about a movie cast for my books is always fun. Here are some of my ideas for an IDEAL Doppelganger series movie cast:

CITRUS LEAHY (and Doppel-Citrus): 


Elle Fanning
I thought Elle Fanning might be a fun choice for Citrus. Other ideas I had were Maddie Hasson (from ABC Family's Twisted) and Chloe Grace Mortez (Dark Shadows), who I actually chose for a different character in the end.

AEDAN FINNIGAN (& Doppel-Aedan):

Sterling Beaumon


I came across Sterling Beaumon (Lost, Mostly Ghostly) and thought he'd make a good Aedan Finnigan. I had a few other ideas too like Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter movies. Still, have you seen his latest movie pics? He's way less awkward looking now!) and Josh Hutcherson (Peeta in The Hunger Games). The hard part about casting Aedan is that he's supposed to be a redhead and there are not a ton of well known actors with red hair (or who could fake it). So, maybe even an unknown would work...

MELISSA DAY (& Doppel-Melissa):

Chloe Grace Mortez
Chloe Grace Mortez (Dark Shadows) seems like a possible choice for Melissa. Any other ideas?

DAN (& Doppel-Dan):

Taylor Lautner
Taylor Lautner (Twilight) seems like a good choice for Dan, since he sure can get his work out on as evidenced from his abs in Twilight.

OLIVIA (& Doppel-Olivia):
Selena GomezSelena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) seems like a possibility for Olivia. 

MATT (& Doppel-Matt):

Logan LermanLogan Lerman (Perks of Being a Wallflower) is a possibility for Matt. Matt could be even geekier, though. Logan is geeky hot. 

SAMANTHA (& Doppel-Samantha):

Lucy HaleLucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) is a possibility for Samantha. I just remember one of her early scenes in Pretty Little Liars where she makes out with the guy who turns out to be her teacher. She can be Samantha-esque I think.

TRACE (& Doppel-Trace):

Avan JogiaAvan Jogia (Twisted) is a definite possibilty for Trace. Have you seen Twisted? He's great and he's pretty good looking too!

And that's most of the major characters! Lol. I'd never be able to get all of these actors into one movie. If I got one or two that would be great. I'm all for unknown actors, though! There might be a new and upcomming star among them who'd be a perfect fit for one of my characters!

"It's at the bottom of my neck, just below my shirt line," I said turning my head to look back at Finn. I was surprised to find him right behind me. I felt my breath catch at meeting his eyes. Our faces were only inches apart. His eyes were so emerald green. I quickly turned my head back around hoping that nobody noticed that my cheeks were turning bright pink."Okay," Finn said a moment later. "I'm...starting."A second later I felt Finn's hands moving the hair from the back of my neck before I could get a chance to do it. My breath caught. Then I felt the back of the neck of my shirt pull down as Finn looked for the telltale doppelganger bump. His fingers brushed my neck. I felt chills run up my spine and goosebumps that I hoped nobody noticed ran up my arms. I tried to stay as still as I could. Finn's fingers ran over the bump as if to check and make sure it was real. I didn't move. My stomach was doing summersaults. I hoped my crush wasn't obvious to the others. Please, oh please, oh please.

This is what I would do if I ran into my doppelganger! It would probably look something like the pictures below! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird! 



Okay, I have to say one thing first before I answer! When I was in college I actually almost ran into my doppelganger! It's true! My friends (yes, a few of them!) kept telling me that they thought they saw me around campus except I was nowhere near where they saw me at the time!!!!! Eeek! My doppelganger went to the same university as me!!!! Still, we never ran into each other. Well, at least we haven't run into each other yet!

So, what would I do if I came face to face with my doppelganger? Ummmmm....I'd probably freak out and wonder if my parents weren't telling me something! Or I'd run. Well, actually, I guess the logical part of me would start to take over and maybe I'd talk to the girl. Still, I'd be really freaked out. Nah. I'd run! Eeeeeeeek!
