Annie Douglass Lima considers herself fortunate to have traveled in twenty different countries and lived in four of them. A fifth-grade teacher in her “other” life, she loves reading to her students and sparking their imaginations. Her books include science fiction, fantasy, YA action and adventure novels, a puppet script, poetry, a Bible verse coloring and activity book, and a cookbook. When she isn’t teaching or writing, Annie can often be found sipping spiced chai or pomegranate green tea in exotic locations, some of which exist in this world.

I'm working on King of Malorn right now. It takes place five years after the original trilogy, and brings back Jaymin, Erik, Korram, and a new main character, Korram's sister Kalendria. Anya shows up in a smaller role, and Dannel and a few other old friends will be there too. I hope to have it ready for publication by the end of 2015, but my day job (teaching 5th grade) has been taking more of my mental energy than usual this year, so it's possible it won't be done till next spring.

In the meantime, do you know about Annals of Alasia: the Collected Interviews? It's a little companion book that is available for free on Amazon and Goodreads. It might be a fun way to get to know some of the characters better.

Thanks for asking! I'm so glad you're enjoying the series!(less)

An interesting story, but definitely not intended to be a standalone. It will probably make more sense after reading the series it was intended to go with, but I haven't read any other books in the series. As it is, the story is incomplete and has no ...more

I liked this book, but not as much as I'd expected to based on other books I've read by this author. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed. I felt the story could have been stronger if the main characters had spent less time thinking about how badly they ...more

This would be an interesting book for kids in America (or any kids with some background in the Bible) to read to learn more about a child's life in Taiwan. However, it wouldn't be a very helpful way to introduce a Taiwanese child to the gospel. Nothi ...more
