After a successful career in banking, I opened Antiques Are Forever, Inc. - my long-time dream - a storefront filled with antiques and collectibles. Having more time to work on abandoned projects, I resumed painting - not only realistic, but abstracts and comics as well. Other muses visited me and soon I wrote and illustrated a children's book, followed by a young adult/adult novel. Book of Diverse Writings - Volume I, consisting of one mystery novella, several short stories, philosophical and other essays and seven one-paragraph stories was published in 2015. It is…moreI have never experienced writer's block, per se; however, I usually compose my stories, novels or poems when the respective muse pays a visit. It is more a matter of inspiration, feeling like it, a rush that makes me reach for my laptop or - in some instances - pen and paper to begin writing notes or to start a new project. The latter also works with my paintings. Although at times I may not feel the presence of a muse, I may fill some spare moments drawing stored ideas on paper. Sometimes it works while in others I may have to leave it for another day - waiting for those capricious muses... (less)
