Feel the Burn
Today was a writing day! It was the perfect day to shut myself in my office and write - although I did get interrupted by the repairman and the heating guy, throwing me off course slightly...
But the weather was gray and cold, not tempting me to step outside other than to grab something to eat for lunch. No obligations, not even to shower (okay, that was probably too much information). I sat on my couch (not a desk writer) in my office and typed away, the words spilling out - and some of the same words coming out a little too often (but that's what editing's all about).
If I squint hard enough, I can make out the finish line in the distance. Feelin' the burn, baby! And it feels good - as long as I remember to blink every ten minutes or so...
I can't reveal too much, but I will say there's about sixty days left of this story (not of writing it, don't panic), but to the story itself - sixty days until you beg for more. hahaha! Okay that was bad... sorry!
Wondering if I can continue throughout the night, taking intermittent naps. Curious what will spill onto the page when I'm bleary eyed and delirious! This is going to be an interesting night...

All the Little Things
I am happy to announce that today was a fantastically productive day!
I re-ePublished RtB! I must have read the manuscript one hundred times (I can't be for certain if that number is accurate, but it sure felt like that many!), and there were still little "oops" throughout when I finally ePublished it. The newest version should be up on Amazon.com within a few days and on the other sites by the end of the month.
I have the most amazing editor in Elizabeth, and she was beside herself when reading any review that made reference to the proofing bloops. So... my fab editing team went through the script and took care of the imperfections. Thank you all for helping me breathe easier!
Today was also the official photo shoot for the book cover to the sequel. It's the most thrilling feeling to see the image in my head come to life! Thank you so very much Sabrina Scolari for being a talented photographer and an inspirational woman!
Oh, and I also finished another chapter to the sequel - in case you were wondering...

The soundtrack is already falling into place with the sequel, so I've decided to release a song each week as you patiently await the story to correspond with the music.

Autumnal Sands
Yes, I know - it's fall! And guess what?! I'm still writing...
I'm certain that's not exactly what you were hoping to hear, but I promised to keep you apprised of my progress (or lack thereof).
Trust me, I live and breathe in Weslyn. I am continually conceptualizing and developing the story line - unfortunately it's mostly in my head right now and not at the computer.
I'm still aspiring to be a full time writer. It's what I want more than anything! In the meantime, I work full time in the event industry, and it's been very busy! I am trying my best to meet the fall deadline, but I also want to get this right and not rush the process. I want you to love it as much as you should!
So now that fall is here, I feel the grains of autumnal sands slipping through my hands. Lucky for me, it's officially fall until December!

What would you like to know...
I realize I haven't shared much about myself - yes, I know my "About this Author" is still blank.
If you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a private person. But I promise to work on sharing more. I am meeting with a photographer soon to get a head shot (and to shoot the cover of the sequel - YAY!).
I promise to create my bio soon so you will finally get to meet me! If there's anything in particular you like about other authors' bios that can help guide me in my disclosure, I'm open to suggestions/questions.
In the meantime, I'd like to share another interview. It was a pleasure Britta! http://novelday.blogspot.com/2011/08/...

Catching Fireflies
I'm nearing the halfway point, and I truthfully wanted to be completed with the writing portion by the end of next week. Anything is still possible, but it doesn't help that I've been in a fog the last few days.
The next chapter is staring at me in bold numbers, but all that moves is the cursor blinking back at me in expectation. My mind is whirling and complete thoughts are evading me.
I've been suffering from a sinus infection, and my creativity is taking the brunt of it - stupid sinuses! I'm going to interrogate the pharmacist tomorrow to find the best non-drowsy relief. Right now, Benedryl has been helping, but then my head's on the pillow within two hours. Not very productive!
I can hear them, those words that belong on my page. They're buzzing around in my head, flashing images - like fireflies. One second I can see them, the next I can't. If I catch enough of them, maybe then the words will emerge from the fog and I can continue on my journey!
