Writer of books—What Would Madame Defarge Knit, What (else) Would Madame Defarge Knit, Defarge Does Shakespeare, and Grounded: The Seven, book 1, teacher of things, and Caster of Pods (at Craftlit.com).

She lives, teaches, and writes in Eastern PA with her bemused husband, two goofy sons, sly cat, a few frogs, and many, many ka-honking geese.

It’s usually good to have a negative example along with a positive when teaching. “Here’s now to… here’s how not to…” It’s good. It gives a bigger picture, broad outlines within which to work, an opportunity to talk about learning from mistakes. So what can we learn from this article about New York? What the ‘thoughtless’ N.Y. government just did to teachers – The Washington Post. The only less... Read more of this blog post »

Heather Ordover Good Grief!
I'm blown away. I'll keep checking in!

Diane He really is super, I agree, and I'd love to meet up at some future event, especially if it also involves dancing. :) The Trailing of the Sheep here in Idaho is amazing if you're ever in our neck of the woods.

Arlen does Burns very well. We have an annual Burns night every January and Arlen recites beautifully. He keeps saying he wants to record for librivox, maybe you'll finally push him over the edge.

Heather Ordover Diane wrote: "I'm looking forward to hearing the section of Dracula my husband is reading for you. I love his accent, and frequently require him to read to me while I knit/spin/cook/paint my nails. ;) "

Heh.
I can see why you require this of him. All that, and he can cook too! You have a winnah!
He's getting rave reviews already. Someday we'll all have to be in the same place at the same time so you can teach me some of my ancestors' dances (Go Clan Macpherson!).
Maybe we'll have Arlen do some Robert Burns for us in the future?
; )

Diane Hi Heather, and thanks for the add! I love your podcast! Maybe someday I'll even be caught up. I'm looking forward to hearing the section of Dracula my husband is reading for you. I love his accent, and frequently require him to read to me while I knit/spin/cook/paint my nails. ;)
