Hey Jack Kerouac
Today is Jack Kerouac's birthday! He was born today in 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts, which is not far from my hometown. I'm a big fan of On the Road. It was one of my post-college used bookstore finds. I think I got it for a quarter, along with A Clockwork Orange and The Grapes of Wrath.

Playlist for Thief of Hope
Happy Leap Day everyone! Thought I'd do something fun and share a playlist I've created for Thief of Hope. Getting motivated
I admit, I am the queen of procrastination. Why do something today that I can put off until tomorrow? Life is busier than ever. The to-do list just keeps growing, and somehow writing never gets put at the top. There's always something more pressing. Laundry, cleaning, paying bills, occupying an active almost four year old. Heck, there are times when I just want to sit and read a book, which is something I am trying to do more of these days because I've neglected doing that for quite a while.

Okay, this is only vaguely related to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but I wrote a guest blog about one of my favorite books, The Mists of Avalon: http://authorkinleybaker.blogspot.com/2012/02/best-book-i-ever-read-watery-tarts.html. Judging a book by its cover
Although you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, the truth is that a striking cover will attract attention to your book. If I happen to be on Amazon or Goodreads and come across an interesting cover, chances are I will click on it and then read the blurb and maybe even check out the reviews.
