Good News....Bad News...
Bad News: After much thought, I've decided to push "Lost" back to December 15th. But the reasons why are good, I think.
Good News: "Lost" is going to be chock full of awesomeness. I have so much more to do with it so it's worth pushing back. I was going to wait to share this, but since I'm pushing it back, I've decided to tell you about them:
1- There's a novella: Remember when I said that I had no idea how to handle the Sasha/Aubrey situation? Well, I have figured it out. Instead of switching narration between Jackson and Sasha, I just decided to make it two separate stories and sell it in one book (This won't affect the price, btw. Depending on when you buy it, it'll either be $0.99 or $1.99, and that was always the plan, but more about that later). So Sasha and Aubrey's story will be a novella called "Over There." I won't tell you the synopsis for awhile.
2- If you buy "Lost" in the first month, you will get the first complete chapter of the final book in the trilogy. If you like this series, you'll want to read this chapter right after you finish Lost; however, it'll be a long wait to February when "Gone" actually comes out.
3- Also, you'll get an excerpt from "Current" a new paranormal trilogy I'm working on scheduled for a June 2012 release, but only during the first month.
I think this is a pretty fair trade for pushing it back. What say you?

FOUR days of Lost quotes, (The Taken Trilogy, Book #2) Day #4
Really gives new meaning to long distance relationship, doesn't it? I kind of miss aloof and kind of an asshole Jackson.
I want to write Sasha a letter for every day that we are apart. I want to tell her that even though my love for her would never feed me or clothe me or keep me from dying, somehow it is the the only thing sustaining me. And that I am angry because I had to give up the best thing I had ever had. And explain the unfairness of existing in a world that she does no longer. Maybe it is worse than death because she is still alive.
I won't tell her that I worked on that for four solid days.

FOUR days of Lost quotes!! (The Taken Trilogy, Book#2) Day #3
Seriously..why is there so much death in this book?! ;) Well there's some love, too, but you'll have to wait for that.
German points to me. Then to the other young man. The smile on German's face reeks of bloodlust. His eyes are cold and malevolent.
"You fight to the death," he says.
"What? That's insane," Charlie screams. "We'll just leave. We can leave."
German shakes his head. "They fight or everyone dies."
NOTE: This scene was edited in a minor way so as to not reveal any real spoilers.

FOUR days of Lost quotes (The Taken Trilogy, Book #2) Day #2
Suicide mission? More deaths?! Saaaad.....Are people even on Good Reads and my blog on the weekend?
"We're all going to die because of me. This was a suicide mission, and it always has been. It's not fair."
A salty tear drips down past my mouth. Then another. And another until I can't see her face clearly anymore. "I can't do this." The pain, the anger, they clench my throat and threaten to suffocate me. I feel powerless and drained. I feel like I'm wasting away. I'll fade from two worlds completely. And because of my choices, I'll take all of them with me.
She drops to her haunches and scoots until she's right in front of me, between my legs. She takes me in her arms and holds me close. The sweat on her face mixes with my tears.
"It's not fair," she says. Her voice is small. "The world never wants you to fight. It punishes you for fighting. It's relentless. Bigger, stronger and crueler, and it knows that you'll give up before it does. But here's something I learned a long time ago, Jackson. The world is just made up of men. People who breathe air and bleed red like me and you."

My random thoughts AND FOUR Days of Lost quotes (The Taken Trilogy, Book #2)
I've really been struggling with the Sasha and Aubrey issue. This has always been Jackson's story, truthfully, but I started to care about my other made-up people, too. I really have no idea how to handle the two universes things. Should I be telling you that? Well it's the truth. Fringe does it so wonderfully, but they have the visuals to help them out.
Also, this weekend, I'll be re-posting quotes from Lost that I did back in September. Is that like promoting? I'm terrible at promoting and marketing. I really don't like it, so I don't do it, and I'm sure it would help sell more books, but I kind of like the intimate feel I have with my readers. That sounded weird.. anyway!
Why don't we start now: This happens in the very beginning of the book. I wonder who's dead?
"You don't think he was coming up here to do the same thing to all of us?" Russell asks, and he's gesturing as he speaks even though the gun is still in his hand. "Sacrifice one for the good of many, friends."
"You just killed an unarmed man, Russell," I say. Unable to ignore the squeezing in my belly any longer, I vomit on the carpet until my stomach contracts, and I'm dry heaving. Left with only the sticky, hot, bitter taste of bile.

Checking In!
I said I would check in around mid-month, so here I am! Lost is coming along. It's about 1/3 of the way finished. I should be further along, but I keep getting distracted by Current. I have the worst attention span when it comes to writing.
Lost's book page is up on GoodReads, so feel free to add it. I'm still trying to stick with the November 30th release date, but honestly, it might slide on over into December...by about a week or so. Don't kill me! =)

Paperback
So this winter, starting with "Lost," I'm going to create paperback copies. They'll probably come out 4-6 weeks after digital versions. Why?
1. I love my reviewers and not all of them have e-book readers and that's not fair. They haven't complained, but I do feel very appreciative, and I hate when I'm a pain in the ass to nice people.
2. GoodReads Giveaways!
3. Why not?
I'll keep you posted!

Off the Grid, but....
Remember how I said I was off the grid?I still am, but I wanted to share this. For all my sci-fi fans, this is next one in the genre for me. There's time traveling, starcrossed loving and lots of property destruction. Synopsis is written, but it's the pre-synopsis synopsis, and it's on the book cover and releases page. It'll be a long while before I release the real synopsis.A long while. But there's a page for the book, so check back in the next few months/year. LOL.
What if the love of your life... Was your sworn enemy in each one of them that you lived?

Off the...
GRID for a bit. Why? So I can write/finish "Lost." I'm a long way from finishing, and I want to stick to my November 30th release date. I figure that you can read it over the holiday. Know what else?
It'll have two surprises for 1st week buyers. Not making hype because I hate hype. It's just that I like to do stuff for people who read my stuff. =)
- One I'm going to tell you about as the release date approaches, so it will only be a surprise for another two months. But I think you'll like it.
- The other will just be in the book. No warnings. =)
I'll come up for air mid-October. Fair?
