Brynne Betz (1970- ) was born in California and spent most of her childhood chasing fairies, drinking raindrops and dreaming up magical stories on her parent's farm in rural coastal Washington State. Aside from the stories she tells her daughter every night before bed and writing for her blog (presenceofmagic.blogspot.com), Brynne is furiously at work on her debut novel about two women separated by three centuries and two continents and how their lives are mysteriously connected.

“Do you know a cure for me?"

"Why yes," he said, "I know a cure for everything. Salt water."

"Salt water?" I asked him.

"Yes," he said, "in one way or the other. Sweat, or tears, or the salt sea.”
Karen Blixen, Seven Gothic Tales

Victor Hugo
“Love is like a tree: it grows by itself, roots itself deeply in our being and continues to flourish over a heart in ruin. The inexplicable fact is that the blinder it is, the more tenacious it is. It is never stronger than when it is completely unreasonable.”
