FREE Kindle version today--Can you get my back?
“Can you get my back?” he asked.
“Of course,” I
said.
When I touched his
skin I felt a small flutter in my stomach, he had a nice back. I could feel the muscles in his shoulders,
his skin was warm. I smelled a slight
hint of musk or some other manly type scent.
The lotion smelled like the old Sea and Ski and the two mixed together
gave me sensory overload. Maybe I could
try again, maybe at some point I would be ready to.
“Thanks Morgan,”
he said turning around.
“You’re welcome,” I
said very aware of his proximity to me.
His eyes searched
mine. I wondered what he saw. I felt scared. Scared I might feel something, scared I might
revert to the use em and lose em, scared I might not be able to ever give my
heart completely again.

Take off your shoes
We
were at the park by the elementary school.
I took off my heels and stepped out of the car. The grass was
slightly damp on my bare feet so when I stepped in the sand it stuck to my
feet. I ran to the swings like a kid
trying to get the last one. He followed
me his hands in his pockets. He stopped
at the edge of the grass watching me. I
pumped my bare legs back and forth and started to swing.
“Take off your shoes and join me.”
He crossed the sand and leaned
against the metal post to take his shoes and socks
off. He bent down to roll up his suit
pants. I watched his hands as I had so
many times. He came over sitting in the
swing next to mine.
“Mathew it seems like yesterday that
we were here. Just like this.”

Who liked their husband
Linda
annoyed her sometimes. Her life appeared
to be under control and she seemed happy, content. Toni wondered who really liked their husband
after twenty something years together.
She knew women who put up with them, stayed for the money, the children,
or some other reason, but not many she knew called them their best friend.

Little fellow
“Come
on I want to show you something,” he said.
We followed the water up the beach
into the trees, into an area where the water pooled before it ran down the beach.
“This is pretty,” I said
Mathew wasn’t paying much
attention, he seemed to be looking for
something. He reached down and I saw what
it was. He picked up a frog and put it
in his hand.
“Look how cute he is,” he said.
“You remembered,” I said.
He
cupped his other hand over the frog as it tried to
jump.
“No, no little fellow,” he said
lowering the frog back to the water.
We watched as he swam back into the
undergrowth.

Body like that
“Ryan apparently is a very stupid man,” he said, shaking his head. “A body like that, he should be busting down
the door to get to you.”
“He’s not stupid,
I think he wants to play, and at first we were playing, the sex part I’m
talking about. Like Trevor, I thought we
were both clear on what it was. I didn’t
think my feelings would get involved, and they did. They bled from friendship to more. I told you about Karen, and her sister, and their
mother, right? Holy shit, figure that
one out, get the whole family,” I said.
Luke laughed
loudly.

Agent
Self publishing is rewarding in some ways, but it is hard being all things. I would really like to have an agent to work with.
