Newest release.....

EXCERPT:
“Are we going to ride the carousel today?” Alex asked as she wiped her mouth with a paper napkin.            “Of course. How could we come to the pier and not ride the carousel?” Cait asked.            The carousel… Snippets of her and Pierce at various ages, her and Alex, the two of them with other friends flashed through Cait’s head. Laughing, feeling.            They finished their ice cream and walked to the end of the pier where, off to one side, a large group of people had gathered to watch a magician. A baby wailed in its stroller and little kids sat quietly mesmerized in the front row. “I’ll buy,” Alex said as they approached the ticket window. “Good timing it’s just slowing down.”
Cait watched as the carousel spun slower and slower and ultimately stopped. The music winding down with it.

Great book!

SHOUT OUT to Lisa Gillis

***** review on Goodreads: Amazon: http://amzn.com/B007F1VSLW

"I agree with the reviewers that say this book is an emotional roller coaster. I found myself inside Morgan's head, feeling exactly what she was feeling although sometimes I think I wanted to be like Gayle and tell her to run. A very strong point is the 70's setting. I know that life, we were living it in the 80's, the close neighbors, the ski trips and beach trips with multiple families and THAT boy who stole your heart and never gave it back...Great book!"

Watch this...

"Jordan went across the monkey bars again, and then I watched him help Britt up onto them. She clutched the bar and hung, her face intently focused on the next rung. She grimaced, and then swung out and caught it. I could tell she wanted to be able to do it like her big brother. Another bar, and then another. When she was about halfway across, she lost her grip and she fell to the ground, landing on her feet. Jordan laughed at her.            “Watch this,” he teased.             Jordan started across again, this time swinging like a monkey, skipping every other bar. As Britt watched, she crossed her arms in front of herself, and I could see it in her posture and in her face that she was determined to get across. She climbed back up and stood on her tiptoes to reach the bar. Again, about halfway across she lost her grip..."

Why cutting?

Some have asked me why I would write a novel on cutting........

The subject intrigued me, as many of us don't even know what it means. Once I got digging into the subject, I understood much of the teenage angst (not only teenage, but majority) that causes it. Overwhelmed, perfectionist tendencies, emotions that seem out of control, feelings one can't quite understand.

We've all been a teenager....might even recognize a little of our younger selves in Cait.

Take a chance....FREE until 1/18 on Amazon

First Amazon review! Freebie Friday......

"Just Barrie wasn't my "normal" read, however I did enjoy it... I won't tell you how the book ends, you will have to read it to find out! Lisa is one of my favourite authors and I can't wait to see what she's got planned next!"

FREE through 1/18/2015

Excerpt:

"Hearing Alex’s tone she glanced at the two of them on the couch. Jeff was staring at Alex with a gleam in his eyes as he fiddled with a strand of her hair. Cait turned toward the window and looked towards the pool, but it was too dark outside now to see it. She knew it was there though: a big black hole. Even scientists knew no one had ever seen a black hole; there wasn’t anything to see. A whole lot of nothing physicists liked to say."

In case you remember being a teenager........and ever feeling confused. Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/o5sz3bd

Amazon Freebie...for a limited time

Excerpt:

"She flipped forward a few pages and stared at the pictures she had drawn. Listening intently to the lyrics, she tried to find meaning in them. She saw the drawing she’d made of a big black hole, the jagged lines next to it, a pair of scissors at the top of the page. Make it stop! written with such force she’d ripped through the page at one point. Each picture and phrase she could almost remember the tool, remember cutting herself. The urge, when it came, was so strong that she couldn’t stop it. Even the music couldn’t stop it."

Why does a cutter cut?

And another one........

5.0 out of 5 stars I kind of have a thing for rocker boys so I figured I might like this one, January 12, 2015By Stephanie D Lashbrook "Stephanie Lashbrook" (Pittsburg, KS United States) - See all my reviewsVerified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Boy In A Band (A Morgan Mallory story Book 1) (Kindle Edition)So I got this forever ago as a freebie on Amazon and it has been on my kindle for a while. I decided to start reading some of the older stuff I have and started with this one. I kind of have a think for rocker boys so I figured I might like this one. The prologue drew me in right away. I had to read the rest so I could figure it out. These characters blew me away. I loved them. They were so complex.

This story started in the year I was born. This was different from any book I had read before. It started with them as teenagers and went into adulthood. It was a heck of a roller coaster ride with these two. There were some extremely sad parts. I won't lie about that. I cried. I hoped it would work out differently than it did but it seemed to work out the way it was suppose to for these characters.

It was a great read with realistic characters.
