The intoxicating language that Lovecraft uses is such a delight. The story from beginning to end has a fantastic, maddening beauty and eeriness about it. A fun read from start to finish.

“Inventors and geniuses have almost always been looked on as no better than fools at the beginning of their career, and very frequently at the end of it also.”
Fyodor Dostoevsky

“There is, indeed, nothing more annoying than to be, for instance, wealthy, of good family, nice-looking, fairly intelligent, and even good-natured, and yet to have no talents, no special faculty, no peculiarity even, not one idea of one's own, to be precisely "like other people.”
Fyodor Dostoevsky

“History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”
Mark Twain

“All of old. Nothing else ever. Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”
Samuel Beckett, Worstward Ho
