That was easy." You knew how hard they struggled yet when that light goes on it seems like it was the easiest thing in the world. Hearing that child that tells you at the beginning of the year, ".I hate reading." Tell you at the end of the year, "Wow, I didn't know there were good books out there, you made a reader out of me." The best thing is teaching a child to see the potential in themselves and then watching them bloom.(less)

Lessons Learned

This week we had state tests at school. One of my former student's asked how my new book was coming along. I replied that I'd done little writing this year because of all of the effort I had put in on lesson plans, etc. My principal was standing there and assured her I would get back into it. This kind of lit a fire under me.

Things have been going great. I followed in your footsteps. I realized I could not keep up with the challenges. I use them to read books but don't post my progress. It was too much.
