I would also like to read at least one of the sequels to The Three Body Problem, but those are a little deeper for sci-fi and kind of need to get mentally prepared for those.(less)
Paul D. Smith I walk away. Seriously, why bang your head on the keyboard trying to get ideas out. Walk away. Do things. Enjoy life. Inspiration will come.

Enjoyable. Many examples of the author's tendency to bloat his books. The controversial scene at the end was completely unnecessary - not sure why it is there.

Started off quite slow. I was engaged at about the halfway mark, which is too long, but turned out enjoyable.

I really wanted to like this book more in that it seemed to embrace topics I'm interested in. But in the end, I was looking for a more substantial conflict. It felt like a big "What If..." experiment that wasn't overly engaging.

Disappointed. Not because it wasn't well written, but it didn't really stand out to me. Other than the fact that it was written by Andy Weir, there wan't anything really unusual from any other beyond-earth colonization stories. Still...looking forwar ...more

It was entertaining, but I honestly don't see the appeal. Found the characters speech patterns a bit anachronistic when compared to the 23rd century setting. Don't know if I can recommend this.

This whole series is a massive endeavor and I give Mr. Sanderson all of the props for doing this. My only critique is that they tend to drag in the middle. This was the first I really thought about setting it aside part way through and then coming ba ...more

Would have rated this higher if it weren't so long. King's attention to detail is mind-boggling, but it bogged this book down.

Another Dan Brown page turner, but predictable. That part of it disappointed me. His "formula" seems all the more evident than in his previous books. Fun read, but don't rush to read it.
