Sashimi Sampler at The Sushi Bar

I can’t believe I ate the whole thing
OMG Roll at The Sushi Bar
This is an OMG roll, and they don’t call it that for nuttin’. They start with a Captain Crunch (cooked) sushi roll, along with a Renegade (partially raw) roll, and then they top it all off with a seafood and cheese mix. The wasabi and ginger (upper right) is largely wasted here.
Problem is, I had already eaten a bowl of miso soup and a Renegade roll, which has stuffed Jalapenos in it, before I tackled this one. It was very tasty, but I can’t believe I ate the whole thing! It’s now 5:40 in the morning, and I still feel like I’m about to explode. Ugh! Ippai da!
Next time, I’ll just stick to the Ora King sashimi, and maybe a salad.

The Raving, verse 13
My guessing gave me pause, but not a word came through my jaws
To the dude who kept his piece in the bag from the bodega store;
This and more was my quest, as I gave my head a rest
On the bean bag’s vinyl cover that the hall light flowed o’er,
But whose faded black vinyl cover with the hall light flowing o’er,
Will he leave? Ah, nevermore!

Pooh on friends!
“We’ll be Friends Forever, won’t we, Pooh?’ asked Piglet. Even longer,’ Pooh answered.”
— A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
My new Adam Ant CDs arrived!
Woo-hoo! I just got my new Adam Ant CDs in the mail! I can’t wait to get “retro.”
I can remember watching Adam Ant videos when MTV first began in the early 1980′s, but I didn’t realize that he is only a couple of months older than I am.
For you adventurous souls out there, Adam Ant is doing a concert in Tulsa on the 30th of this month. I’m not much for going to concerts by myself, so I’ll probably stay home and listen to his CDs and pretend. I’m not even sure if there are any tickets available, but you can find the information online if you are interested.

About friends, by Jane Austen
“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”
— Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey
Sea Salt Vs. Mined Salt
Doctors will tell you that there is no significant difference between sea salt and mined (regular table) salt, except that mined salt typically has iodine, which is necessary for good thyroid health.
But a recent report stated that there is no reason for drastic cuts in sodium intake, and that there is just as much danger from getting too little salt as too much. This contradicts what doctors, including my own, have been telling us for years.
I don’t really know if sea salt is that much better for you, but it is obvious that it provides many trace minerals. Here is a sea salt site that talks of the benefits of sea salt. Decide for yourself. I’m switching to sea salt because it tastes better, and because if there really is a benefit, I don’t want to miss out. It couldn’t hurt.

The old days — when I was a Vulcan

The Raving (Verse 12)
I sat on my bean bag for awhile, then I had to crack a smile,
Moved my bean bag right in front of the dude who stared out through my door;
At this range, the guy was stinking, but then I got to thinking
Could this overwhelming smell be coming through the door—
What had this dark, unholy, ghostly, ninja-like dude at my door
Meant when he spat out “Nevermore”?
Does this look like a guy who just dropped $100 in a sushi restaurant?
I seem to have experienced no ill effects, except …
… the realization that all good things must come to an end — even if we don’t want them to.
