Performance exceeded my expectations
August has come to an end, and my book’s first three weeks on Kindle far exceeded my expectations. I sold nearly 50 copies, but better than that was the over 18,000 pages that were read by those who have Kindle Unlimited memberships, as well as by those using the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
For a time today, Time Pullers sneaked back up into the top 100 books about time travel.
The big question now is: Where will it go from here?

Time Pullers being read in Deutschland now
A copy of Time Pullers was purchased in Germany today. Five have already been purchased in the UK, and the rest from the USA. Besides the USA, free books were also downloaded in Germany, Canada, Australia, and Japan when I did the giveaway, so it’s definitely getting out there.
I’m finding out more about the Kindle library/Unlimited reads and what they’ve been paying. For pages read that equal the length of my book, last month they paid about three-fourths what the royalty would be for a purchase ($2.99 list). That will vary from month to month, both on the pool size and the author participation, as well as the numbers of total pages read. I got started a bit late this month, but the payout for me should equal, or perhaps slightly exceed, the sales royalty proceeds. Not exactly a skyrocketing start, but it’s growing, so I can’t complain.

Time Pullers doing far better than I had hoped
This morning I woke to see that over 14,000 pages of Time Pullers had been read over the past three weeks in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library and in Kindle Unlimited. When I uploaded my book to Kindle, I really wasn’t aware of these new methods of distribution, and it took some sinking in to realize that I would be compensated for pages read. Fifty percent more pages have been read this way–since the Kindle publication date–than the total number of pages of my Kindle books that have sold. Of course, I have no idea how many pages have been read of the 424 books (across six countries) I have given away, but I have gotten four new ratings in goodreads and on Amazon, three of which were 5-star! I feel very blessed to be finally getting my book in front of other eyes, especially when most of those “other eyes” seem to be enjoying it. My overall rating on goodreads now is 3.95 stars over 20 individual ratings. I have a long way to go to catch up to the number of ratings of Jurassic Park, but I’d just like to note that the average on goodreads for that tome is only 3.89 . . . Just sayin’.

I suppose I *did* ask what my pirate name is
Well, it’s of a certain I asked for it, lest I mistook. Here be my new pirate name, me hearties. Learn it well, and look me in the eye when ye say it, else I be slicin’ yer gizzard from stem to stern and gunnel to gunnel.
My pirate name is:
Dirty Harry Flint
You’re the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean — not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Like the rock flint, you’re hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you’re easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Time Pullers Passes a Milestone
I meant to blog about this the other day, when Time Pullers passed 10,000 pages read in Kindle Unlimited and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library–and in less than two weeks–but before I got a round TUIT, the page-read count was already up to 11,000!
A big thanks and a tip of the continuum to my readers.

Time Pullers interest is increasing
Today, over 1100 pages of Time Pullers were read via Kindle Unlimited and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. That’s by far the most for any single day since readers started checking it out about a week ago. During that week, over 4600 pages have been read. Thank you, readers!

Thanks to all y’all who downloaded Time Pullers
Just wanted to say a big “Thanks” to those of you who downloaded Time Pullers during my giveaway. There were around 400 of you who did, and this pushed my book up to #1 in the free-book section of the hard sci-fi category!
