Book Review: Howdy, Ma’am by Mary J. Dressel – Perfectly Chique And Beautifully Italian
As you may have noticed, I’ve been MIA for a couple of days. No blogging, no tweeting, no facebooking and no writing. I have been captivated by Mary J. Dressel’s new book Howdy, Ma’am so much that last night I stayed up till 1am to finish it.
Mary’s enchanting novel is best enjoyed with a glass of Chianti and Chris Young playing in the background: it’s a beautifully crafted story of Velia, a classy, sassy Italian woman, an experienced travel photographer, and Caulder, an irresistible, hunky an...

Writer’s Wisdom 2013 #5: A Reason To Live
“I became a writer because I was a writer, because wherever I looked there was a story I had to tell. Art and creation is not simply another profession, but a reason for being alive on this earth.” (Chicken Soup for the Writer’s Soul)

Writer’s Wisdom 2013 #4: Summon The Courage
“Follow your heart. Summon the courage to live out your dreams. None of us really know how much time we have left. Writing is our task. It’s what we were put on this earth to do. If you’re passionate about writing, don’t postpone the process. Write every day, filling your life with fearless imagination. Your writing may prove to be a struggle, but the discipline will give form and shape and substance to your life. Work hard. Persist.” (Chicken Soup for the Writer’s Soul)

The Charm And Beauty Of Italy 2013 #4: The Kingdom Of Tulips In Piemonte
If you’re in Italy this spring, make sure to go to a very special place in Piemonte that I personally adore, although few people know about it: Castello di Pralormo, the castle of tulips. The castle was built in 13th century as a stark, practical fortress where beauty was not the main focus. In 1574, the first modest garden was built around the castle, but the main transformation came at the end of 19th century. The owner of the castle, Count of Pralormo, King’s minister, hired Ernesto Melano...

Writer’s Wisdom 2013 #3: It Doesn’t Matter What You Write
“Those of us to whom this gift has been given have a responsibility to be persistent about writing and publishing our work until a sufficient body of work has been assembled. Our message is important. The world needs it. That’s our job. Never forget it: It doesn’t matter what you write. What you believe will show through.” (Chicken Soup for the Writer’s Soul)

The Charm And Beauty Of Italy 2013 #3: Castello Di Gropparello And The Fairytale Park
Castello di Gropparello is a perfect place for nature lovers and children (or children at heart). This medieval castle is surrounded by a large forest that was turned into a park a couple of years ago: Il Parco delle Fiabe – Fairytale Park. During a guided walk, you can admire the wonders of nature, discover old legends and, if you’re lucky, meet a few local ghosts.
