To Tan Or Not To Tan?

[image error]When I was in my teens, tanning was a must, an obligation and a matter of common decency. Who didn't tan was completely out. My Italian half of the family was full of obsessed tanners, except for my Italian grandma whose porcelain skin was soft and almost wrinkle-free even in her eighties.

Until my early twenties I roasted my poor skin in the sun throughout the year because thanks to my frequent travels there was always a place hot enough to tan. It was an exhausting, painful process as I had ...

Chique Dolce Vita Project: Day #20

Nobody's life is always smooth and easy. If we didn't have the lows, we wouldn't be able to recognize and appreciate the ups. I've had my fair share of challenges, and I've had many beloved people die on me. I know life is fragile and unpredictable, and my intention is to make it a damn good experience. I don't want to look back one day and see my life has been average because I have never tried to create something memorable…

Where Has The Art Of Flirting Gone

There has been a world famous cliché about Italian men being the best lovers since the times of Casanova. I don't like generalizing, though, and I don't think that you can attribute certain character features to people based only on the country they come from. I wouldn't dare to do so. But Italy is a country that lives its culture, as I've mentioned before, and the world of love has always belonged to it.

A few weeks ago, I received the best compliment of my life. It was on the streets of...

Chique Dolce Vita Project: Day #19

[image error]I love these happiness mugs. A cup of latté (or Earl Grey tea), a piece of homemade cake, a good book, and I'm happy. Add the comforting snoring of my beagle and the sun shining through my kitchen window in the morning, a new chapter written and a very nice book review someone's posted to Amazon, and you get a happy writer. Isn't life wonderfully simple? ;)

Learning To Love Your True Creative Essence: What's So Wrong With Being Blue?

That is the question. And I don't mean melancholically blue. I mean indigo blue in a Chique way. I'm talking about Chique indigo women. About women of many talents and many faces, about women who are wonderfully unpredictable, a puzzle not only to the world but also to themselves.

The fact that we, unpredictable, multi-talented women, have a blue aura, is not a coincidence. It is the color of the ocean, of the sky, of the symbols of natural freedom. It is the color of ink, of the symbol of...

Dolce Vita Joy Project: Day #18

Life gets really extraordinary when you do what you love and allow yourself to create with passion. I know that our days get hectic, and we don't always love everything we do, but what about getting up 30 minutes earlier or skipping the news and choosing to do something that makes you smile? Whether it's reading the book, doing yoga, meditating, walking your dog or calling a friend, do something simple that will make you happy today. And you will live on Happy Road in no time! :)

Chique Event In Italy: "New York: New Perspectives" In Milan

Milan has more in common with New York than you would think. For many years, Milan has been looking up to New York and adopting many of its new cultural streams, becoming more and more cosmopolitan every day.

The Importance Of Freedom In Your Life: What Does Freedom Mean To You?

For a long time, my life was my work and my work was my life. "Me-time" was practically non-existent. And while for many years I always imagined being free in the very sense of the word, the desired personal and creative freedom just never happened. I lived on schedule, my income was never big enough compared to the hours I worked. The results of my creative work were subject to ruthless changes made by other people, that I didn't agree with but had to accept. I felt I was never paid enough a...
