Born in Chicago in 1971 to a carpenter and housewife, Anita loved writing at a young age. Growing up in a Chicago suburb with her five siblings was a loud and adventurous time, and Anita was often found at the library reading her new favorite, or writing a poem or short story. Her high school English teacher presented the challenge of writing a novel, and that opened a door that would never close. Anita has written many novels in the past twenty years.

Anita lives west of Chicago with her husband and her daughter. In the dark hours of the night, while her family sleeps, Anita can be found perched in front of her laptop writing her next adventure.

Typically if I haven't written it is because I didn't sit down to do the work, not because I am blocked.

When working a story out, if I have any problems finding the right course for the characters, going for a walk or a drive helps me get away from the work and gives me an open mind for the direction of the story line. (less)

Real life is going to work out how it works out, and it is nice to have control over the lives of my characters. I get to see the world from many perspectives, and if I write it well, readers will get the same experience.(less)

Ruby Island release

My new sweet romance Ruby Island will be released this Friday, and it's funny how I've already moved on to write my next book in this exciting time. I often have friends remind me to step back and enjoy the moment.

Anita Renaghan answered Goodreads's question: Anita Renaghan
Not going to let my brain go into horror. I go way too far down the rabbit hole and it's not pretty.
Anita Renaghan answered Goodreads's question: Anita Renaghan
This is an impossible questions because there are so many great worlds that have been created! I would travel back to the wizarding world of Harry Potter and try "expecto patronum" to see what kind of figure I would conjure.

Joel Osteen
“You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It wont happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.”

Leo Tolstoy
“I was wrong when I said that I did not regret the past. I do regret it; I weep for that past love which can never return. Who is to blame, I do not know. Love remains, but not the old love; its place remains, but it all wasted away and has lost all strength and substance; recollections are still left, and gratitude; but...”
