Born in Chicago in 1971 to a carpenter and housewife, Anita loved writing at a young age. Growing up in a Chicago suburb with her five siblings was a loud and adventurous time, and Anita was often found at the library reading her new favorite, or writing a poem or short story. Her high school English teacher presented the challenge of writing a novel, and that opened a door that would never close. Anita has written many novels in the past twenty years.

Anita lives west of Chicago with her husband and her young daughter. In the dark hours of the night, while her family sleeps, Anita can be found perched in front of her laptop writing her next adventure.

Typically if I haven't written it is because I didn't sit down to do the work, not because I am blocked.

When working a story out, if I have any problems finding the right course for the characters, going for a walk or a drive helps me get away from the work and gives me an open mind for the direction of the story line. (less)

Real life is going to work out how it works out, and it is nice to have control over the lives of my characters. I get to see the world from many perspectives, and if I write it well, readers will get the same experience.(less)

I wonder if my reading has seasons, like the four seasons in weather. In Chicago we have a definite four season pattern from harsh, snow filled winters to hot and humid summers. In between, we get to enjoy the change of leaves and the green, flower filled promise of spring.
I have always changed my taste in music throughout the year, and I even have playlists on my phone named after the seasons... Read more of this blog post »

One of Dan Brown's early thrillers, this book has engaging characters and as his books always have, very vivid settings. Give it a read!

“You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It wont happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.”
