Epic Cuteness: Calves and Kittens
Summer is almost over, but that doesn't mean the baby animals are gone. Here are a couple cuties from the farm, including the two kittens from this year's litter and one of the newest calves.
The little boy in the back is solid black and has ginormous feet.
"Uh oh. Big sis has found the toy we broke."
Note: The big kitty is Itty Bitty Kitty, who is about
2/3rds the size of a normal cat but twice as awesome.
Nom nom
Is it a goat or a calf? Maybe both?

Funky Footwear Friday
I kind of suck at sticking with memes, but I thought this one might be kind of fun, so I'll give it a shot. Plus, what better way to show off my awesome sock collection?

What Makes Lasting Fantasy - Part II
A little over a month ago, I started a mini blog series on what I think makes lasting fantasy. You can read Part I - A Clear Definition of Good and Evil over here.
Part II - Persistent Characters
While the story has to be well written, characters are what really draw people in. You can have all the action in the world, but if your characters are all one-dimensional twits, it will be hard to keep people interested.
Let's look at Harry Potter, for example. When you think of the series, wha...

Meet the Stars: Edith Myers
Today I have the wonderful star of The Seven Keys of Alaesha with me. Edith is a girl of seventeen who has found herself transplanted into yet another school against her wishes.
Me: Welcome, Edith. How are you this morning?
Edith Myers: *glares*
Me: I see. So you had your first day of class yesterday at your new school. How was it?
EM: Awful.
*crickets*
Me: Alrighty then. Edith, what is your favorite book?
EM: The Two Towers.
Me: Ah, Tolkien. Can't go wrong there. Why The Two Towers specifically? Mos...

FMP: As She's Walking Away - Zac Brown Band
Zac Brown Band is one of those groups that can do no wrong. Every song they've released has hit #1 and it's clear why. Here's the one they did with Alan Jackson, As She's Walking Away.

FMP: Chances Are - Garrett Hedlund
This boy totally missed his calling.
Not so much
Nommy nom nomAnd now for the actual song. I love most of his songs. Hell, I love all of his songs, and I really wish he'd do a real album. But for now, here is Chances Are.

The Next Big Thing
There aren't too many of the blog tagging games I like to participate in, but this one is pretty cool. It gives authors a chance to showcase their current WIP. The lovely MaryBeth Mulhall tagged me. Make sure you check out her post and the others she tagged. It's a great way to discover a new book/author! So here you go. A sneak peek at my upcoming novel!

FMP: Santaria - Aimee Allen
Sublime made Santaria famous, yes, but Aimee Allen perfected it. She took an already awesome song and gave it a little Hawaiian twist. She's up there with Meaghan Smith on my list of totally kick-ass chicks who need to be more popular than they are.
