The Next Big Thing Redux
One of my favorite blog hops is The Next Big Thing. I did this awhile back for The Seven Keys of Alaesha and I am super excited to have been tagged again by the wonderful and talented Diane Capri. Even though my own Next Big Thing is still several months from release, I'm thrilled to bring you a little preview.

FMP: Tiny Dancer - Elton John
Who doesn't love a little Elton John first thing in the morning? Go on, I dare you not to sing along. And then when you're done, go watch Almost Famous for my favorite non-Elton version. Good music can cure any ailment.

I'm taking a little break from my break to bring you ...
I'm taking a little break from my break to bring you a special look at a new book that was just released. Battle Heat is Kelly L. Lee's second book in the Four Realms series. Enjoy!
Hi Samantha! First of all, thanks so much for having me over to your place.

You've got some nice digs! It's always fun to visit new places and tell people about the release of my new novel. If you like Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance, I hope you'll love Battle Heat. It's...

FMP: I'm Nuthin' - Ethan Hawke
Reality Bites was one of the most iconic movies of the 90s. How could it not be with that cast? Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Steve Zahn, Renee Zellweger... It was destined for awesomeness.
I couldn't find a decent video of Ethan Hawke actually singing I'm Nuthin'. You should really just go watch the movie anyway. It's totally worth it.

How Do I Love Thee?
Have you ever done something really nice for someone only to have them look at you like you have three heads? Or vice versa? They did something they thought you'd love, but you really don't? It could be that you have different love languages.
What is a love language? Well, simply put, it's what makes you feel special. Gary Chapman wrote a book back in 1992 to help couples, but I think it works for everyone. So what are the love languages?

FMP: Me & Mr. Jones - Amy Winehouse
A lot of people have trouble looking past Amy Winehouse's less than stellar social life. Like many young folk these days, she let fame destroy her. But if you looked past the drugs, sex, and drama, there was a voice that could blow you away. I think if Amy had been born a generation or two earlier, she would have been spectacular. I can easily see her on the stage of a speakeasy or supporting the soldiers during WWII.

My Favorite King Arthur
Arthur and his lovely knights of the Round Table have kind of taken over my life lately. It all started when I was planning my NaNo novel. It was going to be a paranormal romance involving faeries. In preparation, I was reading through Stroud and Lee's Faeries. In a small, almost insignificant paragraph, it mentioned that Arthur lies with his knights somewhere in Faery, awaiting the time when we need him again. The novel practically started writing itself! So now I'm reading Mists of...

My Weight Does Not Define Me
Is 'fat' really the worst thing a human being can be? Is 'fat' worse than 'vindictive', 'jealous', 'shallow', 'vain', 'boring' or 'cruel'? -JK Rowling
There is a post on Facebook with that going around. I think it's a fantastic quote and shared it. As is wont to happen when someone brings up weight, one of my naturally skinny friends responded, saying fat is like the flu and we should seek to be rid of it, "in [our] own interest." I'm not quite sure why, but that response really pissed me off....

FMP: To Live Is To Fly
I love this version of this song. Townes Van Zandt was a very talented man. This particular video has the lyrics in the description. Enjoy.
