Realizing that the drop would've probably killed me, I chose the rocks and ended up with my goggles, hat, skis, poles, and boot torn from me, and a excruciatingly, painful fractured leg...(less)

They are all such a diverse group age-wise, both male & female, always getting out of dangerous scrapes by the skin of their teeth. Even though they have verbal battles and like to poke the bear, so to speak, they all know each of them has their best interests at heart. Their serious sides and humorous sides all come into play right along with life lessons learned. Sometimes they are brutally honest with each other, many people today shy away from that, afraid they will hurt someone's feelings. A true friend will tell you the truth whether you WANT to hear it or not. A true friend tells you because you NEED to hear it.
When I sit back sometimes, I wish I could dive into the pages with them, while laughing or crying right along with them. They are a true band of troublemakers who can't resist a juicy mystery to solve when it lands on their doorstep. I guess when I inject humor into many of the more sober situations, I'm trying to remind my readers to lighten up, go with the flow and learn from your blunders & mistakes so you don't repeat them. Don't let them defeat you. (Unfortunately, Sam falters in that dept. on occasion ...chuckle) Sam has surrounded herself with friends that accept her for who she is and will be there when she needs to confide in them. ...Yes, and even Tony, her connected guy from New Jersey, is there for Sam and has her best interests at heart...well, maybe in the romance dept. pushing her buttons, constantly in competition with Clay, her love interest. But as a woman, trust me, Sam loves it...chuckle. (less)

We arrived at our gate and settled in at the waiting area with a sigh. My husband and I looked at each other, knowing what the other was thinking. We were down to minutes before boarding, having missed a leisurely lunch before our flight and were both starving.

“Why not stay with the dog and I’ll grab lunch with a drink for us?” he suggested.

“Sounds great! I’ll call you if they begin boarding ea...
