I think some things (like the ending of book 4) will change from what I had planned, but that's fine. I am flexible and I want to let the characters do what they want.

So where do I get my ideas? I let the characters tell me.(less)

What to Do With Wonder Woman? Part 2- Putting it Back Together

In part 1 I set all this up by giving you some idea of what I think about this and why I feel that way and maybe why I'm doing this little thought experiment at all. It's not like I have the last word or even any say at all. It's more that I am testing myself by looking at how I would write on a project that has frankly vexed Hollywood for years. Who knows maybe someone will find some scrap of thi Read more of this blog post »

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
“The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth.

There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There

“Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century:
Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others;

Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it;
Refusing to set aside trivial preferences;
Neglecting development and refinement of the mind;
Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.”
