Hi everyone! My name is Scott Niven and I'm the author of three science fiction/fantasy books: Twilight Candleflies, Sunset Lavaflies, and Midnight Fireflies. I've been writing in one form or another for over 30 years. My short stories have appeared in various publications, including the literary journal Pembroke Magazine. I was also a finalist in the prestigious L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest.

When I'm not writing or spending time with my son, I enjoy snapping forgettable photos, running through my neighborhood, geocaching, organizing a local Meetup group, and hopping on airplanes. I've visited 42 states, 18 national parks, and sadly, only 6 foreign countries.

When I grow up, I hope to become an astronaut.

I've just about completed volume three of the set of journals I've been writing that detail my son's life. As I wrote about in a recent Facebook post, I've spent a large part of the past six months catching up on my journal entries, fleshing out short entries and adding photos to the completed ones.
