Lazada, the Stress-free Online Shopping Haven for Busy Parents

Being a mum, time is a commodity and privilege that I don’t always have. I’m always rushing here and there, overseeing both my work and my kid. I don;t always have time to shop for stuff. But lucky for me, there’s always Lazada! I can now forget about going to the mall, paying hefty parking fees and whatnot – just to purchase a few items which aren’t worth the trip.

Whether you are a shopaholic or not, parents like me is warming up to the idea of online shopping as a lifestyle. Besides the practicality and convenience of online shopping, it also offers unlimited access to tremendous amounts of brands and products only a click away into your online shopping cart!

As a modern parent with so many commitments in hand, budgeting for my purchases becomes a necessity. Online shopping allows me to do just that – before confirming your purchase, I can view the total value of your purchases and decide to drop or add items to your cart at your convenience. No moer dealing with the headache of rushing to different aisles to find additional items, or to return the items that I do not need. With online shopping, everything is at my fingertips.

Granted, some people would still be wary of online payment security, or the quality of products purchased online. The availability of cash on delivery payments on sites such as Lazada means that you can choose to pay only upon receiving the products at your doorstep. Yes, you’re reading that right! Lazada offers COD. :D

Online shopping is a real time-saver for busy parents, as mentioned earlier. Time spent shopping for items at a physical store, lugging the shopping trolley around mindlessly can be better spent with your precious little ones. Mobile applications such as the Lazada Mobile App (available on both the iOS and Android) mean that you can shop anytime and anywhere at all. So whether you are in the office, stuck in a traffic jam or in your pyjamas – you can shop till you drop!

On top of that, online shopping offers more options. Browsing through the aisles in physical stores is now reduced to the simple “Search” box at the online store which yields results in seconds.

Such perks in an online store are available at Lazada, a leading e-commerce player in Southeast Asia. Lazada is “open” 24 hours a day with a great variety of products available for your housekeeping needs – from home appliances, to fashion, to nursing products for your child. Visit Lazada today at www.lazada.com.my

Track Your Period and Ovulation with Period Calendar

Okay. This post is for you ladies out there. I’m sure you have read about my reviews on sanitary pads, cloth pads and whatnot and while we’re on this women’s health and hygiene topic…let me ask you a question. Do you keep track of your monthly cycle? I’m not sure if you do, but I tracked my period, ovulation, symptoms and other stuffs I cared for every month through Period Calendar,  I’ve been using the apps for about 2-3 years now, and I love it to bits!

image

Period Calendar is a smartphone app dedicated to help you track all your womanly things and is downloadable for free on Google Play.

image

The apps is pretty clean, neat and straight forward. All you need to do is just input the dates of your period and the apps will do the rest eg: calculate your fertile time, safe period and even ovulation window.image

For those who are having an active sex life and would like to plan for babies/not want to have babies, there’s fertility alert function here on the Period Calendar. You can opt to have the apps notify you your fertile time or ovulation time if you want.

image

And you can keep track how active/inactive your sex life is by inputting the dates you had intercourse too. I find this function is particularly good for those who are planning to have babies. :D

image

You can also record your symptom

image

And mood daily, just like your own personal diary. Pretty cool app, huh? I think this is pretty cool. The apps can sync to your email, so you don’t have to be afraid of losing your datas in case of anything, and no fret about privacy, you can set a password for you alone to access this apps on your phone. :D

Esmeria Soothing Organic Shampoo

image

If you have been following my blog, you’d probably figure out by now that I place quite an importance on skincare and haircare. And you’d be right about that. I care about my hair. A lot. But unfortunately for me…unlike most beauty and skincare junkie out there, I have dry and sensitive skin. They get dehydrated, flaky and itches easily, so usually, commercial products that’s mostly chemical based does not sit too well with me.

Do you know that my scalp is sensitive to the point that I can only use baby/ children shampoo only? Well, you probably don’t know that. I’ve been sharing my son’s shampoo for years as they are the only thing that’s kind to my scalp.

I have to admit, though… That although I like smelling like babies…fruity and all that, the scent is just so boring. And so when a friend send me this Esmeria Soothing Organics…. the organic solution to sensitive skin & scalp problems, I get pretty ecstatic to try it out.

So…is it kind on my scalp? Surprisingly… Yes…it is and it’s quite a refreshing change from the usual baby shampoo I’ve been using. The shampoo is pretty soothing on the skin and the scent is quite relaxing and the hair feels quite smooth after that.

If you are looking for an organic shampoo that not only smells nice but gentle on the scalp, I suppose this one is quite a safe bet. :)

Crème Conditioner and Detangler by C & C Natural Handcrafted Soaps

image

Although I managed to remedy my easily dehydrated skin with continuous consumption of the collagen drink Ephyra, my frazzled and ‘salon’ fried hair doesn’t seems to be benefiting from it.

Pretty distressing. There are times I feel like I’m a live version of Simba the Lion King and if my hair decides to not behave…I could seriously imitate our Prime Minister’s wife’s  hairstyle without much effort. I’m no big fan of Kak Mah…so having being compared to her hairstyle distresses me. :(

The commercial stuff doesn’t work on me. Tried hair masks…hair serums…they all failed me terribly. I thought of giving up but a friend of mine suggested that I try the non-chemical, all natural homemade remedy instead and somehow…I’m glad I followed her advice.

I hooked up an online consultation with C&C Natural Handcrafted Soaps ( they are specialized in making homemade soaps and creams) and tells them my troubles and they prescribed me the Crème Conditioner and Detangler.

The Crème Conditioner and Detangler contains water, coconut oil, grape seed oil, olive oil, emulsifier, glycerine, essential oil and lavender.

Used it to de-tangle my Lion King hair and works wonder. :) Hair condition seems much better too although I must say that the scent too spicy and sharp to my liking. But forgivable I suppose, considering there is no added chemical and whatnot and it is not supposed to smell like perfume. :)

Erm, I’m not suppose to say this but the leave on creme kinda doubles well as a body lotion and massaging lotion too. Ran out of em and decided to use on hubby one fine day, and he fell asleep almost immediately after the massage. Huhh…it must be some soft of  aromatherapy effect.

The nice lady from C&C has included a complimentary Shea Body Butter for me to try. Like the detangler, it works wonder…just not quite my cuppa tea as the smell is not too pleasant for me. But again…it is all natural ingredients and works like magic on the skin. I guess we can’t complain too much, huh? ;)

Cleffairy: If the commercial stuff doesn’t work, then try the homemade stuff. They might do wonders on you.

Laurier Super Slimguard and Active Fit Sanitary Pad Review

image

As much as I love the comfort of the cloth pads, I have to admit that if you are traveling, the cloth pads would be more of a nuisance rather than convenience. Using cloth pads for almost 5months now has improved my period pain and I love the fact that it doesn’t give me terrible itch after a few hours of usage…but sometimes, I will have to settle for the regular disposable sanitary pads.

Traveling is one of the times I would go for the convenience of the disposable pads. There’s plenty in the market and I usually use Kotex, but quite some time ago, I received Laurier Slim Fit/Active Fit along with Laurier Slim Guard/Active Guard Pantyliner and I decided to give it a go during those days that I need to be on the go.

So…do I like it? I suppose I can respond positively to that. They absorb fluid pretty well and they are thin. It feels as if you’re not wearing any pads/pantyliner at all and they don’t take much space in my bag. :) So I guess a much more convenient option for me if I’m on the road.

So…ladies…if you are using cloth pads…do you stick to cloth pads and cloth pads alone when you’re on the go, or you get flexible like me…opt for the disposable ones instead while traveling?

Cleffairy: Convenience and comfort sometimes don’t walk hand in hand.

Heart of A Bride

Plenty of people I know are getting married this year…some for the first time…some for the second…and some, intending to get married again.  2014 must be a year filled with love…or lust, for that matter. It doesn’t matter which one. The point is that there’s plenty of bride and bridegrooms to be this year, and most of them are the people I know. If I’m not mistaken, Bro Framestone and Muja Girl wrote a Bahasa Malaysia version of ‘Heart of A Bride’ ; ‘Hati Seorang pengantin’, talking about their feelings about getting married, getting married again and reading about it gives me a little pang in my heart, and here’s my version of it, considering that I’m one of the bridesmaid for my BFF Wendy, who is getting married this upcoming September.

For those who are not married…yet to be married…here’s a little question for you; Do you know how it feels like to be a bride? Men, husbands- to- be, don’t answer that, please. You probably wouldn’t know how it feels like to be a bride, because, obviously, you are not a woman, and unlike men, we  women tends to use our feelings more during the engagement period.

As soon as we decided to say ‘Yes’ and end our life… I mean, end our single life and start a new one with our future husband, we get wacky. We’ll be sensitive, picky, choosy and emotional. We cry alot. Yes, we do. Although not in public. We think a lot and we start having fears. We wondered if we’ll be making the right decisions? We wondered what changes it will bring? Will we still be mummy and daddy’s girl? Will it affect family relationships? We started to think about the future. We wondered…will we be as much as in love like this forever for the rest of our lives? Will we be a good wife? Are we capable of being a good mother? Will these… will these be enough for us? Are we making the right choice?  We worry for a lot of things, but some things are better left unspoken.

There are alot of things that comes to our minds, we have cold feet, and we’re entitled for that. We get nervous, but we can’t really show it. It’s supposed to be a happy occasion, something to celebrate…after all, that’s what weddings are supposed to be; celebration of love, isn’t it? Brides have doubts, and so regardless of what happened throughout the period, we just…continue walking, and moving forward. We brave ourselves, we seek courages and comfort from our girlfriends and hope that this is one thing in our life that we won’t screw up.

Some men remain aloof about wedding preparation even after the initial proposal stage, leaving everything to the ladies to sort it out after that, and that made us wonder if they are really serious about tying the knot with us. Look here, marriage is a journey. Wedding preparation is just a start of a beautiful partnership ahead, so men, please don’t let your bride wonder if you’re having second thoughts and whatnot. Getting married is not just about preparing for a party, reception or selecting  the perfect wedding dress, but a partnership in whole. So if you have any heart at all, be there with her.

I understood a bride’s heart…how she feels. So… as a bridesmaid…I WILL BE THERE for her throughout the journey. She may turned a Bridezilla on me at some point in the future, she may gets emotional and unreasonable at times, but I’ll be there for her, because I understood how she feels like. It is not my own wedding I’m preparing. And it never will be. But I’ll walk her journey and be there as if I would my own.

Not many respect the sanctity of marriage anymore. You can see infidelities everyday and many women choose to turn blind eyes to it, in the name of love, in the name of innocent children. Forever and a day no longer held meaning for me, they’re just…words…mere words, but I’m sure, true love in the purest form exists. I know so. I can see the evidence with my own parents. My dad still holds my mum’s hands whenever they walk, they hug and kiss each other pretty often. They love each other and not afraid to show it, even at their age. They fight, they quarrel, but they made up and don’t hold grudges towards each other. They are petty with each other, they joked with each and play pranks on each other like a bunch of naughty children, but they don’t go to bed angry at each other.

They are faithful to each other, and they promised to grow old and live the rest of their lives together. And they honoured each other. Something… I know a lot of women yearn for, me, included. Something that all mothers would want to show their children. A proper family structure, where they can always be secure with the fact that their parents love each other, and a wonderful memory to grow up with.

Cleffairy: Forever and a day may not be for everyone, but I hope God will bless those who are walking down the aisle, an eternity with each other.

Malaysia Clothes Buffet 2014: A Heaven For Shopaholics and Fashionistas

How was your weekend, folks? Mine was awesome. I spent my Saturday in heaven. Well…heaven for self-proclaimed shophaholic, that is. :D Like I mentioned before in my previous post, there’s this clothes buffet event going on…well, if you know me well enough, you’ve probably guessed that I spent my Saturday there, and you’d be right about that.

image

I’m not a fashionista, but I know a good deal when I see one. The Malaysia Clothes Buffet was definitely a good deal. This is probably the only place where you can help yourself to any clothes that you want within certain time limit. There were loads of fashionable pieces. Just pay Rm60 and you can grab whatever you want. The catch? Well, you’re given a small ziplock bag and a mere 15 minutes to grab whatever suits you fancy.  If you can stuff all the clothes that you chose into the bag, then you’ll you can bring em back.  Damage the bag, then you will be penalized Rm20 for it.

image

So…here’s my loot after 15 minutes at the Clothes Buffet. A mere 6 pieces of clothing. :( 2 dresses, 2 tops and two blouses. The record was 21 pieces of clothing that day. Guess my packing skill was terrible, huh? I could only stuffed 6 pieces of clothing into the bag with the dresses taking most of the space in the ziplock bag. But still, I’m pretty satisfied with my loot. There’s variety and I can do a lot of mix-and match with em at plenty of events and occasions. If I were to buy these individually, I’ll cost a bomb, that’s for sure!

image

White Korean lace blouse. :D (Price tag: Rm56)

image

Ethnic inspired white blouse (Price tag: Rm55)

image

Purple satin dress. My favourite loot. Fits me perfectly and no alteration needed. I’ll be wearing this to some weddings this year. :D  (Price tag: Rm85)

image

Yellow summer dress. Will definitely wear this during my upcoming beach trip. ( Price tag: Rm55)

image

Red hot spaghetti strap with matching scarf for a hot babe look ( Price tag: Rm20)

image

Orangey satin top for a casual wear during dates (Price tag: Rm35)

Total damage if I were to buy these seperately: Rm306. :D I’m a happy girl. What else could I ask for? :P

image

Anyway, there was this Aussino Clearance Sale going on at the same time that day, and I decided to check it out too. My anniversary is coming and my bedroom is shabby… uhh… I need to spark things up a lil bit. Yea, yea, I know, excuses, excuses, but you can’t blame me. It was 80% off! 80% off! Who in their right mind can resist? I certainly can’t!

image

Spent about 5 minutes there at the Aussino Clearance sale and I latched onto this:Rm 988 worth of Double Happiness Bridal bedsheets, cover and pillow casses set. :D Oh yeaaaaa….I was really a happy girl! :P
