Rivbos Sunglasses from Justeyewear

 photo IMG_20140627_125312_zpsrbjeampu.jpg

So…I couldn’t resist the offer from Justeyewear. Sigh…I know…I know, I’m turning into a shopaholic….but who could resist discounts when it is more than 50% off for branded stuff? I’m not sure about you…but I can never resist a good deal…and therefore, I ordered this from Justeyewear’s website.

Rivboz Sports sunglasses. The sunglass is unisex and it comes with 5 interchangeable lenses, a pouch, wiping cloth and a chic carrying case. It only takes 24 hours for the sunglass to arrive at my doorstep, so I’m pleased to say that I’m satisfied with Justeyewear’s service efficiency. Highly recommended if you want to buy something and get it quick.

The Rivboz sunglass is tough although at first glance it looks rather fragile. Changing the lenses can be abit tricky, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. So thumbs up for the quality. I’m more of woman sunglass kind of girl, so I guess my husband will be using this for driving more than I do. :)

The Art of Traveling in Style

I’m a very vain person, even while traveling, I have the urge to look good. I always believe that style should never have to suffer whenever you’re traveling. Hey, don’t blame me. I’m a woman. Looking good is my prerogative. , besides, you’ll never know who you’ll bump into while you’re out traveling, so you might as well look good. :P Yes, style should never go ‘traveling’ too when you’re on the go, but but not only vain but lazy too. I hate packing up and bringing too much things with me, and so, that would mean that each time I traveled, I would have to travel light.

One would say that it’s impossible to travel light but look good at the same time, but I beg to differ. It is possible to travel light but look good at the same time. :) The trick is to mix and match, and accessorize. The keyword here is to accessorize. Acceccorize is the key to look different with the same outfit.

There’s a few must have items that I won’t go travel without:

1. A pair of jeans

2. Plain coloured shirts/dress

3. Shawl

4. Sunglasses

5. Liptint

Take it from me folks, shawls are popular accessories that bring warmth, comfort, or just a bright splash of style and color to an ensemble. What many shawls fans might not realize is that these accessories can actually be accessorized themselves. Scarves can be paired with a range of other items that can bring out the texture, dynamism, and look of scarves. My favourite pairing, is of course sunglass. Wearing jeans and shirt while traveling makes me look like a Plain Jane, but splash up my look with a shawl around my neck and a fashionable sunglass to frame my face transform me into a completely different person. It makes me look chic and classy, even when I’m wearing my plainest pair of jeans and shirt. :) Ahh, accessories do wonders to your looks, don’t you think?

As of writing, I only have a pair of woman’s sunglass and an aviator, and I’m thinking of getting another pair from justeyewear.com.my. Justeyewear is deals site that sells vouchers for eyewear . Products that they are carrying includes sunglasses, Contact Lens and Prescription Glasses. Deals that posted in Justeyewear can be redeemed in 2 methods , online redemption – they will send you the goods after payment is made online in 3 workings days . Offline redemption – consumers may redeem their voucher at the respective optical store with no extra money needed to be paid.

Now, I used to buy glasses offline through optical outlets, but they can be rather costly and not very friendly to my pocket. Justeyewear has work together with optical merchants to carry out various promotion with discounts up to 70% or more, allowing me to save more and to enjoy better product value. Isn’t that great? I can never resist a good deal!

Now, do you think I should get myself this?

TOD’S Woman Sunglasses TO 0082 – Black Color. The very DNA of Tod’s – from fine craftsmanship and tradition to the best Made in Italy quality with 100% UV protection.

I bet it will make me look chic and classy if I paired it up with my shawls and outfits! The market price for this item is Rm448, and it’s practically discounted at Justeyewear. Buying this at Justeyewear will only cost me Rm228. Hey, that’s practically 49% off! :D Justeyewear provides free delivery to Peninsular Malaysia for this item.

I’m still thinking about getting this pair or other pair of sunglasses from Justeyewear. Will you help me choose? Just hop over to Justeyewear website, and help me choose.

From Russia with Love Part III: The Gems of Russia

Time is a really funny thing. You can be at one place today, but at a completely different place the next month on the same date. It was 19 May 2014. My husband and I were in Thailand, celebrating his birthday and also our twelve years anniversary which happens to fall just the next day. We trot around and made our way to Samila Beach in Songhkla and shopped til we drop in Hadyai. We stopped by Malaysian Consulate in Hadyai for awhile before ending our vacation. It was a lovely experience.

 photo IMG_20140619_114353_zpsiqgx94co.jpg

One month later, on the very same date; 19 June 2014, I found myself in a different embassy, for a different reason and purpose. Yes. Time is indeed funny at times. If one month ago I was in the Malaysian Consulate in Hadyai, this month I found myself in the Embassy of The Russian Federation in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. The Embassy was established since April 1968 with H.E. Vladimir Kuznetsov as the first Ambassador, marking the beginning of bilateral relationship between Russia and Malaysia. Presently, Her Excellency Lyudmila G. Vorobyeva and a number of 20 diplomats continue the legacy to strengthen this partnership through political, trade, investment, educational and cultural exchange. Russia is currently Malaysia’s 26th trading partner.

Remember I blogged about Moiseikin, The Art of Russian Luxury not long ago? Well, if you haven’t read it, you might want to do so. The artworks is the epitome of elegance and sophistication, but even the most expensive of Moiseikin’s artwork and precious jewelries could not have prepared me for the real Russian gems; the real life Russian ladies.

Yours truly was invited to lunch with Her Excellency Lyudmila G. Vorobyeva, the Ambassador of Russia and learn more about the Russians first hand. I wouldn’t pass it for anything else in the world. I’m not someone of high stature or a VVIP and it’s not everyday that the ambassador entertain guests in her home.

 photo IMG_20140619_143145_zpslslyndex.jpg

It was a very intimate lunch. Apart from my little boy, only ladies were present. Ms. Paris and her intern Ms.Nazrin, Ms. Polina Matveycheva whom I’ve met during the Russian National Day dinner not long ago was there too, along with Her Excellency and her niece. They might be in diplomatic line, but gosh, they are so strikingly beautiful that one could easily mistook them for international supermodels.

 photo IMG_20140620_091746_zpst5djamns.jpg

These are what we had for lunch that day.  I was told that these food are typically served for meals in a Russian household. Unlike Malaysian food, they are something what the dietitians and nutritionists will approve. ;) Salad with smoked salmon, thick and creamy potato soup, a typical Russian dish as maincourse, and fruit cocktail to wash off the meal with.

After the fulfilling lunch, came the tea and coffee along with sweet pastries and chocolate, and that’s where the real fun and excitement begins.

 photo IMG_20140619_143219_zpszkoi3sr6.jpg

Her Excellency Lyudmila G. Vorobyeva, the ambassador of Russia, telling us about herself and her country. Now, the leaders from our country and the VVIPs from the rest of the world may have worked with her on a professional level, but that day, I had the pleasure of getting to know her on a personal level. She told us about her interesting childhood where she grew up in Thailand over a cuppa tea. Apparently growing up there has left a great impression in her life. From our conversation, I discovered that she is a fun loving person. She loves all the simple pleasure life could offer. And one thing the rest of the world might not know is that this doting mother and wife loves dancing too. The little chit chat then proceeds to some very basic lesson on the Russian language. :P I was given a Russian version of my name, which is simply ‘Liza’ and was taught on how to greet people in Russian.

Apart from that, I was also taught on how to address the Russians correctly without sounding rude or impersonal, and was taught a few terms of endearments in Russian too. :) I struggled a little bit, but I think I can get a hang on some of it now after some practice. :PPreevyet‘ is hi or hello, ‘Spaseeba‘ is Thank you,  ‘Da‘ is Yes,’ Nyet‘ means No,’Da sveedaneeya‘ is Goodbye and ‘Ya tebyaA lyublyu‘ is I love you.

I’m always intrigued by the Russians lifestyle and culture, and one of my all time object of fascination is the Russian dolls. While we were chit chatting that day, I decided to ask Her Excellency about the famous Russian nesting doll, the Matryoshka Doll. I’ve read about it in various mystery novels and seen it in the movies, but never in real life. I wanted to know the real story and the origin of the doll, and who better to ask than a real Russian, who will definitely not make a fiction out of it. ( Hollywood and authors all around the world has given me a rather strange impression about the Russians, you see)

 photo IMG_20140619_150044_1_zpsqlqfiacg.jpg

To my surprise, Her Excellency took out a Matryoshka doll from her collection and gave it to me as a gift. Gosh…I was a bit flustered as I was only asking about the origin and the real story behind the doll (or rather dolls, the doll is hallow and there is few smaller ones nesting inside of it) Thank you so much for your hospitality and your generosity Your Excellency. I’ve seen the Matryoshka dolls in the movies but have never even dreamed of owning one, and now they are on display in my bedroom. :) I’ll think of you and Russia whenever I see the doll. (More about the doll on the blog soon)

 photo IMG_20140619_151232_zpsuy8xpalg.jpg

Lunch ended too soon, and here’s one for the album. From left, my new friend Ms. Polina Matveycheva, Her Excellency Lyudmila G. Vorobyeva and on the right, her beautiful niece. :) They are the real life Russian gems, much more precious than Moiseikin’s art and jewelries :)

Cleffairy: Getting to know the Russians on a personal level makes me feel like visiting Russia and learn more about the beautiful country one day. There’s more Russian gems and treasures that I have yet to discover. Yes. I would really like that, to visit Russia. :)

#gilabola by Joe Flizzow

It’s past midnight, and I’m here in my regular mamak stall. Obviously I’m no Cinderella. And It’s a good thing too, otherwise my fairygodmother would have a cardiac arrest if she discovered that I’m still…waiting…waiting…after midnight at my regular mamak stall, not for food, but for the football match to start. I know I sounded footballmad, but I just love watching the games on the big screen!

Yes folks, yours truly is infected by the #gilabola fever! I can’t help it. Everyone is talking about it. Some may detest all the hype, but not me. I’ve always been a football fan. When I was still a high school student, I have this habit of going to the football field to watch the boys play football. I enjoyed it very much. I don’t have such chance anymore now considering that I’m no longer a student, but hey, there’s always English Premier League and now ongoing in Brazil as of writing, FIFA World Cup 2014.

I love the adrenaline rush while watching football match, and I went as far as Genting during the opening to meet Robbie Fowler, formerly a Liverpool star player.

 photo C88E58451_zps9adf63a7.jpg

Here’s a little throwback. :) On the left: Robbie Fowler with one of the Genting big boss on the right. :)  I managed to get him to autograph my t-shirt, and I was so, so, happy! That’s definitely going into my ‘not wearing because it is so special wardrobe;. :)

I love all the hype the football fans made when the team they supports score a goal or two. Sports such as this brings so much positive energy and togetherness between family, loved ones and friends, and I’m a sucker for all of the positive energy. It makes me feel so good!

I tend to support the underdogs team, and naturally, the team that I usually root for lost the game pretty early. Last time I placed all my hope on England, but this time around, I go for Japan. I thought that they have a pretty good chance with all their player’s positive attitude, but they lost anyway. It was really sad, but I thought they played really well, and they displayed such awesome sportsmanship attitude!

Anyway, You’ve probably heard Joe Flizzow’s new song, #gilabola. I’ve been listening to that song, and it’s stuck in my head right now. Have you heard the song before? It’s pretty catchy and upbeat. If you haven’t, make sure you watch the music video here:

Song : #GilaBola

Singer : Joe Flizzow

Learn the words in the lyrics video and sing along, folks. The lyric is just right HERE: The lyrics talk about the typical habits of ‘football mad’ fans of all ages and origins, like staying up all night, face painting and more.

Come on guys, FIFA World Cup does not happen everyday.  Join me in the #gilabola craze in the Football Mad Territory and make sure you also share all your football-mad moments with the hashtag #gilabola on Instagram! Who knows, your submissions could even appear in their next video.

Avenue K, A Fantastic Lurk for Shopaholics

It’s mid year, and it’s that time of the year again. What time you ask me? Why, shopping, of course. There’s loads of sale going around, and I swear I’m turning shopaholic. But you can’t blame me. The sales are just so irresitible, and I can’t help myself. I keep telling myself, it’s okay. The stuffs that I have been buying is not a waste, in fact, it’s an investment. :) I’m not a believer of restricting myself from the pleasure of what life can offer me, even if I can’t afford it. My motto is work hard, and just earn more to spend if I can’t afford something. I’ve been hanging onto this motto for almost a year and I’m much a happier person than when I saved up money and try to not spend when I can’t afford something that I like or need. Work hard is the key to all my materialistic happiness. :) Not sure if you can relate, but that’s how things works for me.

Anyway, speaking of shopping, it has come to my attention that there’s this shopping mall in the heart of KL. Avenue K is a hip shopping haven complimented by a classy, city-living address, “K Residence”. Avenue K is located opposite of KLCC. and it aims at creating a “shopping culture, where lifestyle, aesthetic and social elements converge.

Avenue K is located at 156 Jalan Ampang, 50560 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Avenue K has good rail access via the Putra-LRT line, seeing as how its concourse level already houses the KLCC station. The shopping mall has been around for quite some time, but it has been completely revamped and relaunched yesterday. :)Avenue K was officiated Avenue K was officiated today YB Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan bin Tengku Mansor to splendid fanfare and an impressive lineup of performances.

Also present in support of Avenue K were heroes of philanthropy, Teri Choong and Dato’ Ruby Khong. The former is known for her managing role in NGO, Generasi Gemilang and the latter is known for heading Kechara Soup Kitchen Society Malaysia based in the Chow Kit area which feeds and cares for the city’s homeless and urban poor. Both are among the AK ambassadors appointed in conjunction with AK’s grand opening campaign.

Teri Choong won RM 8000 and Dato Ruby Khong won RM 2000 for their charities respectively from Avenue K in a Treasure Hunt held earlier this month. The two were presented with mock cheques as part of the grand opening itinerary.

Modbox Beauty Kit

I love receiving surprises in the good old fashion mailbox, be it letters or parcels containing goodies. ;) I bet you guys loves receiving stuff the old fashion ways too.

This is a big outdated, but I received a Modbox Blogger Kit from Mod box Bloggers Communities containing sample sized skincare and beauty products quite some time ago.

 photo IMG_20140606_014702_zpsk5efe0vp.jpg

I’m no beauty queen. But I’m definitely a traveler and a certified vainpot. I like to look my best, even when I’m traveling. But sad to say, not much products out there caters to travelers. But hey…I’m in luck. The goodies I received from the Modbox elves are travelers and backpackers friendly. There are five sample sized goodies in the cute box. Shaire London Fragrance Free Dry Shampoo, Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover, Human Nature Overnight Elixir, Dentists Plus White Nighttime Toothpaste and Acne Patch for Day.

 photo IMG_20140629_204916_zpsdn45fnc9.jpg

Shaire London Fragrance Free Dry Shampoo 60ml (Rm35.90) is probably my most favourite item in the Modbox. Why? Well, it serves me really well while I’m on the go or in a rush from one appointment to another. This item helps me clean my hair without having to step into the shower to wash it. Perfect for those busy days where you need to move around like a Superwoman and can’t afford to go home for a quick shower. All I need to do is just spray it on evenly on my hair and scalp and it will help me clean and condition my hair nicely. Enriched with seaweed extract, this shampoo also helps me to repair and strengthened my already salon-fried hair. If you are a busy individual, I highly recommend a bottle of this in your bag. Fabulous item to have for busy professionals.

 photo IMG_20140629_205011_zps8osdepeq.jpg

Human Nature Overnight Elixir 30ml ( Rm129.90). I dub this serum a miracle water. I used this religiously after shower and after cleansing my face before bedtime. After just a few days of usage, I discovered that it improves my complexion while I’m sleeping. Works wonder and moisturized my skin perfectly throughout the day. The serum features nine most luxurious, purest botanical oil. Great for those who wants to retain their youthful looks but got no time to visit the spa or beauty for facial treatments. Worth every penny spent on this, I reckon.

 photo IMG_20140629_204932_zps82g6ugzo.jpg

I don’t really use eye makeup like eyeliner or maskara as I find it hard and time consuming to have them removed. But I guess with Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover 145ml (Rm26.90), I’ll be making kajal and eye shadows my best friend. Removing eye makeup is finally fuss free with this product, and if you are the kind of girl who can’t live without your eye makeup, this is a must have item in your beauty and skincare collection. I’ve been using this to remove my makeup and it takes just a few second to strip off my face. Bonus point: it is gentle on the skin and does not exfoliate. Instead, it helps to moisturize your skin.

 photo IMG_20140629_205042_zpsdgt0y5w3.jpg

Mia Care Acne Patch for Day 12 patch (Rm9.90). Ever since I’ve given birth to my son, I stopped having pimples. They only appear during PMS or when I’m too stressed. Thank God for that. I did not try this myself, but gave it to my sister instead, and she said it is a lifesaver. This miracle acne patch hides hideous pimples effectively and can be worn underneath your makeups. It is highly invisible and absorbs the pus and accelerate healing. :) Must have item for teenagers who constantly have pimples popping up on their face.

 photo IMG_20140629_204954_zpswvvmumsf.jpg

Last but not least, Dentiste Plus White Nighttime Toothpaste 160g (Rm25.90).Helps prevent bad morning breath by naturally increase saliva. :) Wonderful thing…as I’m a kisser. I love kissing my husband in the morning and this item practically helps me improves intimacy. Bye bye bad morning breath and hello morning kisses.

Overall, I’m happy with the samples that I received, especially the serum, the shampoo and the toothpaste.

From Russia With Love Part II- Moiseikin, The Art of Russian Luxury

You know something? I’m a bit like a frog in a well. I lived quite a sheltered life and I did not know much about the world. Until I started traveling and meeting new people, which was just the end of last year, my knowledge about people and the world is limited to what I’ve watched in the movies or what I’ve read in the books or novels. There’s this saying that says “The world is a book. Until you traveled, you’ve only read one page”. That’s really true, you know? Until you’ve really trot the globe, you know nothing about the world and the people.

Like I said in my previous post, From Russia With Love, my whole life was a lie. Well, at least where Russians is concerned. Until I met some of them in their National Day dinner last week, my opinions on the Russians is pretty much…well… ‘not much’. I thought most of them are mafias, mad scientists or head of organized terrorist organization. At most, they are the alpha male protagonists in Harlequin romance novels where they take reluctant wives or mistresses.  I guess I have the Hollywood to blame for that. :( They are anything but that! They are a bunch of nice, courteous, charming, beautiful, intelligent and talented people. :D

And speaking of talented, here’s introducing one very talented and handsome Russian, Mr. Viktor Vladimirovich Moiseikin, Founder of Moiseikin Jewellery House, Russia.

 photo IMG-20140614-WA0022_zpsahsnml7y.jpg

From left: Anita Ibrahim, TV3 Nightline Newscaster, Mr. Viktor Vladimirovich Moiseikin, Founder of Moiseikin Jewellery House, Russia and my new friend Azean.

Viktor Vladimirovich Moiseikin first fell in love with colourful stones when his father, Vladimir who was a geologist presented him with a piece of malachite. Since then, he has been filling up his treasure box with colourful stones from the Urals, Russia. In 1993, he opened a small jewellery studio in Yekaterinburg, holding on to his life-long dream of reviving the tradition of Russian luxury since founded by Karl Faberge in the 19th Century.

Moiseikin Jewellery House creates most luxurious and fine jewelry items, both stone-cut and metal, interior clocks, transformer objects, Russian Brilliant series’ and hand-made jewellery items. Specializing in glyptography,Moiseikin strives for perfection and innovation while reviving and maintaining the traditions of Russian craftsmanship. Dedicated to perfection and eager to satisfy the tastes of the art pieces’ owners, Moiseikin designs one-of-a-kind jewellery items and unique souvenirs, basing on a deep understanding of their historical and personal backgrounds, and their feelings. To create lively, carefully detailed art pieces that would move their owners is the priority of Moiseikin. Combining ancient symbols and modern ideas, wisdom of the past and energy of the present, skillful masters creates unique and refined objects of natural materials that most aptly demonstrate and emphasize the beauty of jewellery art works and precious metals. All these talents are part and parcel of Moiseikin’s art. You can find out more about Moiseikin’s art in www.moiseikin.com, but in the meantime, please allow me to showcase some of the lovely pieces from Moiseikin that’s exhibited in the National Art Gallery.

Admiring the art of Russian luxury

Moiseikin jewelleries. Gosh, I wish I can have a piece of this!

 photo IMG-20140614-WA0003_zpsezd9xggq.jpg

The highlight of ‘The Art of Russian Luxury by Moiseikin’ at the National Visual Arts Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, The Horn of Plenty. Jewellery, lapidary and watch-making masterpiece. Its production took 3112 diamonds, and every detail was done manually as a separate art object. The first interpretation of the “Horn of Plenty” made a huge impression on the international jewellery community. This interior clock became a symbol of the exhibition “Russian, Eastern & Oriental Fine Art Fair — London 2010”. Moiseikin decided to surprise the audience by introducing a brand new “Horn of Plenty”, which has never been exhibited before.

 photo IMG-20140614-WA0020_zpsp7emt1xv.jpg

What makes the Moiseikin crafts so beautiful is how some items from the exhibits have ‘hidden treasure’ in it.

These pieces are actually detachable accessories that will complete your look for the day.

Swans are the symbol of true love in many fairy tales and folk lores. With true love, comes diamond brooch pins from Moiseikin in this exhibit item. Among the swan jewellery miniatures are brooch pins. Exquisitely clever, don’t you think?

Check out the video above, Mr. Roman Isaev shares the secrets of Moiseikin’s hidden treasures

Mr. Viktor Vladimirovich Moiseikin, Founder of Moiseikin Jewellery House, Russia and my friend, Ms. Paris. Hmm… I think she should just marry the man himself as she looks so happy with the blings bling from Moiseikin. :P

The cheapest of these exquisitely crafted rings costs RM90,000.

You know what? I’ll voluntarily kill to be able to wear this one! I’m a huge fan of necklaces and I have quite a few of them in my jewellery box at home. :)

Knowing the Russians is indeed an eye opening experience, and I hope one day, I would be able to visit the country myself. :) I’ve fallen in love with their beautiful and courteous people, and I bet the same can be said about the country itself. :)
