In her early days, Suzy lived in a big old mansion in Wales with her parents and her paternal grandmother.
The house made a huge impression on her in these formative years. There was something magical about it; it had iron gates, a long sweeping driveway. It had an island of trees screening it from the road as if it was a secret place of her very own.

The Snow Queen by Suzy Davies
“Don’t want white,” retorted the girl, lifting her chin so that she appeared haughty and queenly, although she was pouting. “I’m a gittin’ married in black n’ red.” Under her breath she whispered, I’ll be the Queen of the Gypsies!”

“Books are a portable kind of time travel. We go back as well as forward when we read them. When we come back into the now, after being immersed in worlds previously unknown to us, we find ourselves, transformed. Touched by their magic, nothing we ever perceived beforehand remains quite the same.”
Suzy Davies

“Libraries are like caves. They are places of transformation. There are secrets hidden within those walls.”
Suzy Davies

“I want to sling a stone, a small rock into a pool, see it ripple. I want to shake a tree, create a small storm..”
Suzy Davies, Johari's Window

“She pressed on as fast as she could. The wind, the sleet, the snow, the ice trickled down the gutters and made her shiver. Ice scraped down her slender neck, clawing its frozen tendrils into her delicate skin. Her journey became a battle against her weakest self and the savage elements.”
Suzy Davies, The Snow Queen

“Writers are method actors. They become their character. They feel what he or she feels. They switch between viewpoints, always with a clear sense of their own selves as writers, and yet somehow losing themselves in their Art”
Suzy Davies

“There is wisdom to be found in fairytales, a deeper meaning in the magic of their worlds”
Suzy Davies

“Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
Roald Dahl

“You need one book for all the lives you could have dreamed of, and lived, but never had”
