I’m thrilled to report that EDGE OF LIGHT is going to print via Harlequin’s Direct-to-Consumer program! The print version will be available for purchase on Harlequin.com around December 2013. I will be giving away several autographed copies for your keeper shelves, so keep your eyes on this blog for upcoming announcements!

In other news, while my writing has had to take a bit of a backseat this past year, but I finally feel like I’m in a position to go full steam ahead on the project I’d set a...

I am so pleased to have Shawna Thomas as my guest on my blog today! Read on to learn about Shawna’s journey from idea to finished product of her newest fantasy release, JOURNEY OF AWAKENING! DSCF4245edit2

Have you ever thought about how books are written? I’m a writer with several books under my belt and the process still amazes me. It starts as an idea, maybe a situation or a character in the writer’s mind. I don’t know how it is for most writers but for me, this happens when I’m least expecting it. You k...

February 6, 2013

Once upon a time there was a writer (me), who was struggling with her book (story of my life, folks!). I whined, and sent up smoke signals for help, which were answered by another writer (the awesome Kat Cantrell). Of course, I didn’t know how awesome she was at first and I was worried that maybe I was sending my chapters to a weird stalker who would dissect my characters into itty bitty pieces and bury them in her backyard–

Oh, wait. Sorry. My romantic suspense brain just kicked in for a minu...

February 5, 2013

February will always be a bittersweet month for me. It’s the month I finished my last chemo treatment (Feb. 14th, 2011), it’s also the month that my dad passed away (Feb. 13th, 2011). I cannot describe the roller coaster of emotions I felt as the chemo nurses presented me with a little figurine of a cat with wings that would watch over me, knowing that both my Heavenly Father and my daddy were now watching over me from up above.

I don’t much believe in coincidences. I believe everything happen...

January 1, 2013

Well, looks like it’s officially 2013! I can’t say I’m sorry to see 2012 go. It was a rough year, filled with few highs and a lot of lows. I watched with great trepidation as my debut Carina Press romantic thriller EDGE OF LIGHT, a book that meant so much to me, was loving released into the world, with a fabulously chilling, evocative cover. I celebrated when people ‘got’ the darkness of the book and the meaning behind it, and hid in the corner when they didn’t. I got to hear three of my book...

November 28, 2012

I was tagged by the awesome Kat Cantrell to participate in The Next Big Thing blog hop. If you haven’t read her Next Big Thing post about her upcoming book, MARRIAGE WITH BENEFITS, you must check it out here!

The Next Big Thing gives writers the opportunity to answer ten questions about their current WIP. Then, they tag four more people to post about their WIPs, who in turn tag four more writers to keep The Next Big Thing going.

In all the NaNoWriMo craze, I…uh…completely forgot about this, whi...

As you can see, I recently updated my website! I chose to use a Themify theme, and I have to say, I am extremely impressed with them. Almost everything can be customized on their themes. From layout, to color scheme, to font styling, to logos and backgrounds–Themify puts you in charge of your website in a way most other themes don’t.

I absolutely love the slider option that lets me display my awesome, vibrant, chilling, cover for EDGE OF LIGHT so beautifully. I also love that the widget option...

In honor of EDGE OF LIGHT’s release, I’m holding an exclusive giveaway. What can you win? I’m glad you asked. Because I’ve got some special, one-of-a-kind items up for grabs.

Oliver Shaw’s Journal

This 1901 hardcover edition of Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo was used as Oliver’s journal while in captivity.

May 4, 2012

It’s time to show off some of my FAVORITE artwork around my house. These, hands down, delight me more than any Picasso, Van Gogh, or Renoir could!

First, the paintings:

This is J’s (son #1) Sonic-the-Hedgehog esque character drawing. I love the shoes and the scarf and the sword.

This is G’s (son #2) dot painting. My favorite part of this painting is the elephant off to the right and the trees. Kind of like a re-imagining of Dr. Seuss, combining Horton Hears A Who with the Lorax. At least, that’s...
