I was born in Lincoln in 1962 and attended St. Faith's School in its West End from 1967 to 1975, at which point I moved on to the city's Yarborough High School.
In October 1982, I set off for the University of Nottingham. There, I spent three very happy years studying Politics whilst an 'inmate' of Willoughby Hall.
From 1986 to 1989, I taught English, Science and Drama at Manor House School in Cairo. Whilst in Egypt, I was also employed as a private tutor by the Saudi Arabian Royal Family.

I tried my hand at teaching in the UK but it proved, for me at least, to be like trying to reheat a soufflé after the uniqueness of Egypt.

The missing years...

I'm conducting research on William Shakespeare's missing years. There has been a lot of speculation about this period but very little has actually been unearthed. I think it's about time we knew what the Bard was up to.
