Edward began his career as a storyteller writing and illustrating for Marvel Comics. He turned his attention to prose fiction and earned his BA in English literature at Rutgers University. His first prose story, "The Date" appeared in Playboy Magazine. The first Guardians of Aandor series, Awakenings (Tor Books), debuted in August 2011, and the second novel, The Lost Prince, dropped on Aug. 20, 2013. Book 3, Blood of Ten Kings, will drop on Dec. 4, 2018. Hobbies include concerts, live shows, poker tournaments, game nights, movies, softball, biking, eating unhealthy snacks, and books (obviously).

Regarding rating books:
Reading for work five days a week, Edward does not suffer a bad or mediocre story when reading for pleasure. For that reason

They had done an acoustic and unplugged album of their Led Zepplin songs, with a 30 piece orchestra, and took it on a world tour. My friend Steve had seen a show earlier on the tour, said it was good, and we got tickets for the very last show of the tour at Madison Sq. Garden in New York. I had never seen Led Zepplin in concert, having been too young in the 70s, so this was the closest I would get to one of their concerts. Lights go down, music starts, Wanton song, except instead of acoustic, it's a full-on electric guitar with distortion, electric bass, drums. The crowd rose to its feet. I turned to Steve and asked did they do this the last time? He said no. Page-Plant rocked out the entire last show, and they still had the 30-piece orchestra for the songs that lent themselves to orchestration, like Kashmir. I got to see my Zepplin show after all. No one sat for the entire two hours. It was one long encore of Zepplin's greatest hits. A very close second was Paul McCartney at Yankee Stadium about 6 years ago. (less)

Portrayals Of Privilege In Guardians Of Aandor Series

Privilege—as a concept, a racial or economic barrier, or an unfair advantage for some—has captured the current zeitgeist's most progressive thinkers, sparking debate on the ethics of what is fair and unfair advantage. I touched upon the idea of privilege in TheGuardians of Aandor series since the feudal nature of the alternate universe lends itself easily to the discussion, though I applied a... The Ogre Hunt (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
1 chapters   —   updated Nov 12, 2014 01:39PM
Description: This short story is a YA prequel to my Guardians of Aandor series from Tor books. The series itself is not YA, so more adult fantasy (i.e. Game of Thrones) is not your thing, you might want to stop after this story. The main character is one who appears as an adult in the novel. Spoiler alert: the character's true nature is a mystery for half of the first book, Awakenings. By reading the short, you discover what she is in advance of the novel. This should not effect the enjoyability of the novel overall.

“Dorn exuded confidence, like someone raised in an exclusive Northeastern boarding school; the kind with crested jackets and ties, where teachers lived in fear of their students”
Edward Lazellari, Awakenings

“So is that a yes,' the sheriff asked.
Daniel held his breath. The lawsuit, the cost of bail, these were enough to push Clyde into the zone. The world stopped on Rita's next breath. A single assertion could end this mess--protective custody; the sheriff would shield Daniel from Clyde's wrath.
'No,' Rita said in a steady strong voice. 'My husband does not abuse us.'
The lie kicked Daniel as hard as Clyde's boot.”
