Tune in tonight

If you’re not busy tonight, consider listening to WCWP.org (88.1 FM in Suffolk) at 8pm. Rock N Soul Gospel will be playing excerpts from my spoken-word CD, Music of the Forest.

Best wishes for a Healthy and Hopeful New Year, Mary

Virtual Poetry Reading

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an inspirational evening of poetry and music hosted by The Walt Whitman Birthplace Association!

In these trying times, our spirits are in need of being lifted – and so they were with the power of poetry and music.

Kudos and a depth of gratitude in particular to WWBA’s host Caitlyn Shea, poet/author, Linda Trott Dickman, singer/songwriter Paul Ammendola of Red Words, and guitarist/husband Mark Phillips for enhancing the event with their gift of words, voice, and music.

Most of the poems on the video are from my new spoken-word CD, Music of the Forest.

For those who were unable to attend, here is a video of the event:

Stay safe,

stay strong,

and be encouraged,

Mary

Save the date – November 12 (poetry reading) #poetry

Support poetry and the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Huntington, New York. [image error]

Join us on November 12th at 6:30 for a lovely evening of poetry via ZOOM.  It’s easy, poetically uplifting, and fun (plus it’s on ZOOM, so you can stay in your jammies).

I’ll be reading and playing keys (along with Mark Phillips on guitar) from a new spoken word CD.

Join (register with ZOOM) right here.

Times are tough and poetry might be the last thing you’re thinking about right now…but it shouldn’t be.

The Walt Whitman Birthplace Association (a fabulous place to visit if you’re in New York) will be hosting the event via ZOOM at 6:30 P.M.  Easy! You can attend in your pajamas.

Register here for the event!

More details to come…

Stay safe, Mary

Virtual Poetry Reading

Friday, the Walt Whitman Birthplace  hosted an inspirational evening of virtual poetry.  Hosted by Caitlyn Shea, the program included fellow poets, Linda Trott Dickman , Thomas L. D’Angelo, Maria Iliou, and musician, Bryan Gallo.

If you haven’t visited the Whitman Birthplace in Huntington, New York, add it to your “to do” list (once it reopens)!

Gratefully, I was one of the featured poets for the night.

If you’re a poet, they are booking future poetry readings!  Consider supporting them – and submitting your own work.

Click here or below to view.  Enjoy!
