Richard Salter has been writing for over 25 years, so you would imagine he’d be a lot better at it by now.

His latest release is a collaboration with Steven Savile on a brand new thriller for the Ogmios Directive! Shining Ones features members of the team introduced in Savile's Silver on a new mission in South America.

His debut novel, The Patchwork House, is a haunted house tale with a time travel twist!

He is the editor of a Doctor Who anthology and the mosaic novel, World’s Collider, and co-editor of the charity anthology Fantasy For Good, which features some huge names in fantasy fiction and is raising money for The Colon Cancer Alliance.

His short fiction appears in various anthologies including Solaris Rising: The New Solaris Book of Sc

This is How You Die by Ryan North
"The premise is simple: a machine gives you a vague (possibly one word, at most a short sentence) prediction of how you will die. It is not wrong. The execution? Fantastic. There are so many different stories in this book that explore this premise..." Read more of this review »

This is How You Die by Ryan North
"The Machine of Death tells you how you die, but it isn't always as straight forward as the results from the machine might make it seem. This makes all of the stories a bit more fun, as while you are reading them, you try and figure out exactly wha..." Read more of this review »
This is How You Die by Ryan North
"What an excellent sequel, with the exception of maybe one story I didn't enjoy, these were every bit as poignant, wonderful, and horrifying as the first collection! I got a little bit less existential dread while reading this one but maybe that's..." Read more of this review »
This is How You Die by Ryan North
"This collection of short stories all focus on the premise that there is a “death machine” that tells people how they will die. There were so many different fascinating ideas: how could governments use this knowledge to create invincible armies, cr..." Read more of this review »
