An Apt Pupil - An Alarkling Mix

A sexy, creepy, angsty mix for the long awaited Alarkling Excerpt. Listen at your own risk, I’m worried this might, like, possess people or something…

“It’s true,” I said softly. “You are stronger, wiser, infinite in experience.” I leaned forward and whispered, my lips brushing the shell of his ear. “But I am an apt pupil.”

Listen on 8tracks

Lawd I love you guys. How fast did this go up after the snippet??

Do we have to buy a certain format of the books in order to get the poster?

I don’t think so. I believe you can order/pre-order paperback and in some cases ebooks. They just have to be purchased through the independent stores on the list.

Do you know who the illustrator of the poster is?

Here name is Irene Koh and she’s here on tumblr as prom-knight. She was one of the first people to draw Grisha fanart and she is crazy effing talented. GO FOLLOW HER AND SUPPORT HER IN ALL ENDEAVORS.

I should also mentioned that the map is by Keith Thompson and the layout of the poster as well as the title work was done by the wonderful kayte-ghaffar.

is there anywhere we could buy that poster?? (I'm not from the states)

No. The poster is not for sale. The posters and bookplates are only available through this promotion so you’d have to order one of the books through one of the stores that offer international shipping.

See this poster? This beautiful poster with original art by Irene Koh? This beautiful poster with a gorgeous map of Ravka on the back?

WANT IT? How about a fancy signed bookplate? How about a visit from me—live, in the flesh, talkin’ crazy about the eating habits of volcra and anything else you might like to discuss? Well then, there are things you need to know!

Between May 1st and June 17th, pre-order Ruin and Rising OR purchase Shadow and Bone or Siege and Storm from one of these independent booksellers and you’ll get a signed Grisha Trilogy bookplate, and a limited edition Grisha Trilogy poster.

But wait! There’s more!

The three stores that sell the most copies of Grisha Trilogy books between 5/1 and 6/17 will get a visit from me before the end of the year. So if you want me to come to your town for a Grisha party, toting exclusive swag and MAYHEM, this is your chance to make it happen. Tell your friends! Tell your neighbors! Tell that guy, you know, I think his name is Doug!

And yes, some of the stores do ship internationally, so you can get treats abroad. See the list for details.

Little Announcement Tomorrow

A while back I mentioned that we were cooking up a way to get signed copies of Ruin and Rising (and the other books in the trilogy) into your hands.

I wanted to do something a little different this time and we’ve put together a giveaway I hope you’ll be excited about. It’s a way to support independent booksellers, hopefully get some new people hooked on the series, and get limited edition Grisha treats. AND MORE.

I’ll be announcing the details tomorrow at 10am!

Do you look at GoodReads reviews on your books?

You mean the ones that say things like, “This idea would have been great in the hands of a more talented writer,” or, ” Well, it’s a Kiersten White book, so I had low expectations”?

Oddly no, I do not :) And here is why: I can quote you exact lines savaging my writing, but lines praising it? Those don’t stick. So, for my health, I follow my own rules.

Reviews are for readers. Any and all reviews about books are appropriate, because they are the reader’s opinion and they are welcome to share that opinion. I always appreciate people reading and talking about what they are reading. I think it is awesome.

But if what they are talking about is what *I* have written, I am happier not knowing. If you love my books and review them, I am so giddily grateful and deeply appreciative. You are amazing. That’s all there is to it.
