Daily Sketch: Catwoman...

More JLA/Villainess figures. Catwoman. For whatever reason I kind of drew her ears wrong in this one. Seems too "Batman", still a good study on how to draw black leather costumes quickly. Lots of trial and error to get it, but now I've got a pretty good formula down that seems to work.

Daily Sketch: More Batman!

Mo' Batman! Again, this is part of a bigger scene where Batman is rushing in from the left here. I feel like throughout, I had fun working out the shadows on his mask. I feel like the last couple projects that I've been drawing Batman so much, that's what I liked doing the most.

Daily Sketch: Superman and Poison Ivy...

This was a scene from the project, but it reminded me of the Batman story Hush. Poison Ivy somehow mixes kryptonite with a plant spore formula. When Superman breathes in the spores, Ivy is able to mind control him and he attacks Batman. It's a great story if you get a chance to read it. This scene doesn't exactly work out the same way. LoL, I'll show it all when the project comes out. Until then, I promise you won't guess what she makes him do.

Daily Sketch: Batman...

Another Batman, this one not so dark and brooding. Sometimes when I draw Batman and he's not all in the shadows he seems more like a superhero. Less intense, not a good or bad thing, just different. It reminds me more of the Jim Aparro run in the 80's. Fun stuff.

Daily Sketch: Wonderwoman...

I've not drawn Wonder Woman that often. There are many big characters I have yet to work on, so this was a cool chance to try it out. Trying to nail down her strength and power while keeping a feminine grace is the toughest part.

I know my Aunt Mary Lou will get a kick out of seeing this one for sure! One of the biggest Wonder Woman fans I know.

Daily Sketch: Superman...

Man, I really got to draw the biggest JLA characters on this project. Superman is still a hard one for me to get just right, but I love the character. I'm not the biggest fan of his new costume either. Seems complicated just for the sake of adding more lines. Still it carries a classic feel, and it's obviously Superman, which can't be said for every costume change he's had.

Daily Sketch: Catwoman...On a cat...

Yeah, occasionally I get projects that have a bit of a weird twist. For some reason in this one Catwoman wrangles a Lion and rides it like a horse...why not I say! It was fun drawing a lion in the story. And don't worry, we'll see more ;)
