Daily Sketch: Cyborg...

Here's another Cyborg for the mix. It's interesting to come up with a linear version of what a superpower looks like. Cyborg is blasting a sound wave cannon, but what could that possibly look like? This is one of those moments you need the colors to really sell what you're trying to imply. Looking forward to being able to show what this art was for!

Daily Sketch: Batman and Harley...

I talked about this a bit in my last post with Harley, but I'm really glad I got to draw this costume version of her. It's just more fun and playful and less outright psychotic like in the Arkham games. Just a small scene from my JLA project where she eventually gets caught.

Daily Sketch: Wonder Woman...

Like with Batman, I've been drawing these JLA characters for awhile now. Not a ton of new info to say about them. Also like Batman, Wonder Woman is jumping to get away, hence the grimaced face. Out of context she just looks like maybe she's looking down...a bit disappointed.

Daily Sketch: Harley Quinn...

I'm glad for this project I was able to keep Harley Quinn in her "classic" Batman the animated series costume. I love that the Batman video games have done so well in recent years. I think the costume redesign is even alright, but it's so out there and much less "super villain". Plus I just have a nostalgic love for that Batman cartoon, it was great to get to draw Harley in this costume.

In this particular shot, She is actually flipping mid-air, and when printed she'd be upside down. But this is what she looks like as I drew her. Then we just flipped her when I scanned it.

Daily Sketch: Cyborg...

Cyborg has been getting so much more attention from DC in recent years. In all the animated films, in the current Teen Titans show, and they just launched a new #1 comic "Cyborg" with huge name talent creating the book.

Some editor much really love this character.

Daily Sketch: Poison Ivy...

Another Poison Ivy, I think this was actually the first one that I drew for the project. First time I had drawn her in her "New 52" costume. I like the full black areas, but it's tough to beat the classic design.

Still a very fun chance to do more superhero work, and the classic Gotham City Sirens of Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn so much!
