Bestiary Production Update #8
There’s not much new information to provide on the project this week. However, I did discover some extra contributor copies of my older work hiding on my bookshelf which will soon be sold in a further effort to raise funds for Bestiary’s cover. It’s hard to say what the books will bring in, but it’s worth a shot.
I’ve also been informed that edits are progressing on Surviving the Crash. I may end up picking a day solely for updates on said novel as things roll along.

Bestiary Production Update #7
Alas, there have been no takers on the fundraising items. But that’s okay! While I was thinking of selling off the items to Half-Price Books or Hyde Brothers, I remembered Appleseed Comic Con is only a few weeks away. And since I’ll be sharing a table with my wife, I might as well make the most of it. Comic conventions are hardly the greatest venue for selling books, so I’ll likely have to return to the first option, but eh, it’s worth a shot.
As to other news: I shall be writing up the dedication and acknowledgments page for Surviving the Crash today. Also, I’m torn between moving on research for my next book and updating the self-edits on one of my old ones to prepare it for the beta-readers (I always get a little lost after finishing a long project). Eh, maybe I’ll do a little of both.

Is character more important than plot? Or vice-versa?

Bestiary Production Update #6…and a Bonus
Well, this is it, folks: the last week the fundraising items are going to be available. They are as follows:
-Three copies of my first book, Black Corners of a Blood-Red Room. The collection was published by Library of Horror Press in 2010 and is currently out of print. It contains 46 short stories (and a few flash pieces) of horror, occasionally blending with everything from fantasy worlds to science-fiction. These are $20.00 a pop ($5.00 of that goes toward shipping).
-Two copies of Shroud Magazine #6, containing my short story, “An Allure Forgotten.” Shroud always puts out a great product, and this issue is no exception. In addition to my story, there’s content from Rick Hautala (rest easy, buddy) and lots of other great talent in the genre. I’m selling the magazine for $10.00 (again, the extra goes toward shipping).
Additionally, I’m happy to sign any of these items by request. If you’re interested, just drop your e-mail address in the comments section and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
Now, as to new business…I just sold my first novel (Surviving the Crash) to the good people over at KHP! The book is tentatively slated for a late spring/early summer release, so I’ll keep you updated as developments occur. Once the book’s edits are finalized, I’ll also be posting a few teaser chapters here for your enjoyment.

Bestiary Production Update #5
Welcome to yet another update on Bestiary’s progress (sort of).
Things have been a little slow over the last week as I’ve been seeing to the beta-reader responses for Bestiary 3, which will be in shape for an editor soon. I’m hoping to release all three books in the trilogy relatively close together so you guys don’t have to wait too long for each new installment. I’ll be putting them together in an omnibus (electronic and print) at some point after that.
And speaking of waiting, I’ll be hearing back from KHP regarding my novel’s status at some point this month!
Meanwhile, the fundraising for Bestiary’s cover continues. I’m going to give the items another week or two to sell. If nobody’s interested, they’re headed for the used bookstore, so grab ‘em while you can!
The items are as follows:

Becoming a competent writer is far from easy, but most take the first step without even realizing it…

Bestiary Production Update #4
As you know from the previous updates, the cover is the primary part of the process left to complete. I currently have $55.00 saved up with a budget of $100.00 in mind (and yes, you certainly can get an excellent cover for that amount of money if you know where to look). However, as student loans and various other expenses are putting a cramp on my plans, I figured I’d do a little fundraising with all you folks who actually follow this blog!
What I have available for sale are:
Three copies of my first book, Black Corners of a Blood-Red Room. The collection was published by Library of Horror Press in 2010 and is currently out of print. It contains 46 short stories (and a few flash pieces) of horror, occasionally blending with everything from fantasy worlds to science-fiction. I may add more items to this list as things develop.

New Article Up (Why a Writer (Always) Needs an Editor)
