Music Monday moves with The Beatles

The world lostthe great George Martin last week, legendary and innovative producer for much of The Beatles catalogue. In March, I’m featuring songs that make me move and this one pays tribute to the man often referred to as the fifth Beatle.

Rest in peace, George Martin … and thank you.

Enjoy “I Saw Her Standing There,” and have a super week,

~eden

Writing and Yoga: The Two Things That Saved My Life by guest blogger @BrittSkrabanek

Today, I have the privilege of handing over my blog to author Britt Skrabanek. Britt and I have been friends since I interviewed her for my Eden’s Exchange Author series, and she included me in her Life Enthusiast Chronicles.

In sharing with one another, we discovered common passions.

Writing. Of course.

But also yoga.

Unlike Britt who is a yogi, I only returned to yoga recently. I attend hot yoga classes about four times a week and I’m loving it!

In reading Britt’s post, I now understand why...

Music Monday moves with @TheWeeknd

Welcome to March and the first of many songs that make me move. I’ve joined a hot yoga studio and attend classes at least three times a week, including a fitness-inspired Body Tone class. One student calls it “hardcore,” but I love it.

It’s a high energy routine with loud music, and it leaves me hot, sweaty, and feeling great!

Speaking of hot, “Can’t Feel My Face” by Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye, known by his professional name The Weeknd is definitely hot in this video. Watch it and you’ll see what I...

Music Monday and Changes ~ #DavidBowie

I mentioned David Bowie’s song, “Changes” for a blog in 2014but never included it in my Music Monday posts—until now. It’s my all-time favorite Bowie song for so many reasons but mainly because its lyrics speak to me.

“… I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence and
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same …

I said that time may change me
But I can’t trace time”

The words remind us thatchangeis truly life’s only constant, a...

Eden’s Exchange Talks to Author James Moushon (@jimhbs)

Author interviews are a helpful way to learn about new and established writers. After doing nearly 150 of them since I started blogging, I took a break from Eden’s Exchange in 2015.

I’m happy to restart my series with an interview of author, James Moushon. James is atireless promoter of others, and it’s my pleasure to shine a light on him for a change.

James, let’s learn a bit about you. Are you a full time writer or do you have a day job?

I am a Mystery Writer about 40 percent of the...

THE LETTER ~ A story for @RBwood’s #WordCountPodcast

You can also hear me read this story on: Episode #54 of R.B. Wood’s “The Word Count” podcast.

The prompt asked that we write a story based on three words:

Chocolate | Lust | Thorns

Since it was around Valentine’s Day when we received the prompt, my story touches on love … sort of. ;)

Dear Adam,

I want to offer you an apology for my behavior the past two weeks. I know most women would’ve jumped at the chance to go with you to some romantic spot for Valentine’s Day. Your invitation caugh...

Music Monday and Heroes ~ #DavidBowie

Co-written with Brian Eno, “Heroes” is considered one of Bowie’s most inspirational songs. The tune contains a certain sense of irony but also holds an optimistic, hopeful message.

Bowie opened the benefit Concert for New York City following the 9/11 attackswith two songs: Simon and Garfunkel’s “America” and “Heroes.” His song was performed to honor the first responders from the New York City Fire Department and New York City Police Department.

May “Heroes” inspire you to have a creative and...

Music Monday and Modern Love ~ #DavidBowie

It was Valentine’s Day yesterday for those who celebrate, and really … who doesn’t celebrate love?

Whether you did so with your significant other, family, friends, pets or on your own, I hope you found some time for love.

“Modern Love” was my introduction to David Bowie. Released in ayear of discovery for me (1983), I immediately fell for Bowie’s look and energy.

And each time I hear this song, I can’t help but fall in love with it all over again.

Hope you enjoy it too and have a great week,
