HOT FLASH – A Smoking New Book Release

You may recall in September I planned to release an ebook of flash fiction and poetry by yearend.

I’m happy to announce my new book, Hot Flash is available today. Wheee!

It’s a collection of twenty erotic stories and poems, with two NON-erotic stories as well.

I wrote and read many of them for The Word Count Podcast by author, R.B. Wood. I’ve re-edited them with several other pieces and added three never-before-published works.

Erotic story: “A Lustful Encounter”

Erotic poem: “A Loose Leaf”

Non-erotic story: “My Grandfather’s Gift”

As the book is dedicated to my grandfather, I’m very proud to close the collection with a story about him. Originally written as part of a holiday anthology which never materialized, I’ve revised it and include it here. I’m thrilled the story has a home, and I know my grandfather would’ve approved.

My sincere thanks to JB Graphics for a SMOKING HOT cover. I hope you’ll pick up a copy of Hot Flash and enjoy it.

As always, grateful for your support,

eden

Music Mondays ~ Jumpin’ Jack Flash by The Rolling Stones

I picked this song because it’s a prelude to a book release I’m doing this week.

It’s white hot, isn’t it?

Inside the Mind of Author @DianthaJones

Diantha Jones’ positive attitude is contagious, and she’s sharp as a tack and quick as a whip too. I met her when she reviewed both my books earlier this year. She’s an incredibly organized and hard-working author who’s currently on a blog tour for her Oracle of Delphi Series.

Suffice it to say, she’s a busy woman, and I was fortunate to connect with her.

Don’t miss this chance to learn more about fantasy author, reviewer, and blogger, Diantha Jones, and follow her tour. It’s on until Nov. 19th with giveaways and prizes too.

Click on the poster and get all the details!

In Diantha’s own words

I was born the day thousands of turkeys sacrificed their lives to fill millions of American bellies –– Thanksgiving Day (So I guess that makes me a turkey too!). I was born in Texas, but never lived there, so no, I am NOT from Texas. I’m from Georgia and that’s just all there is to it.

I grew up a military brat (I’m bad ass for that alone) and moved around a lot, but no matter where I was, I always had books. Lots and lots of books. My mother kept me in the library, not that she had to force me, and I read constantly growing up. My first series was the Babysitters Club, and I went at it hardcore. I owned most of the series and was even a member of the fan club. Good times. But that was just the beginning. I’ve read hundreds of books since then, and along the way, I found my gift for writing.

Inside Diantha’s Mind

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Nice question. Perfection is a state of mind I don’t believe in. If ever there comes a time when life is perfect, then it’s time to die, as there is nothing else left for me to do.

What turns you on creatively? Movie soundtracks. I do my best writing to movie soundtracks (without words, of course).

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Awesome. I think I have totally abused the word in the literal sense and the literary one.

What quality do you most admire in a man? Drive and work-ethic. There is nothing worse than a lazy man.

What quality do you most admire in a woman? Confidence. Insecurities stem from a lot of places but a strong self-identity overrides that every time.

What is your greatest regret? I have so many, I’ve lost count. There are a few relationships I like to pretend never happened…

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My ability to chill out. I just can’t seem to do it. Now that I’ve got real goals set and am on the path to making them happen, I feel like rest is for those who are planning to fail. It’s a stupid way to think, but…yeah…I have no excuse for that.

What is your greatest fear? The usual. FAILURE. If I fail at this writing thing, I’m not sure what I will do. So I guess I can’t fail.

[Eden] With your strong work ethic, I don’t see you failing at anything, Diantha.

Which living person do you most admire? My parents. They’re wonderful, and they’re still married after 32 years inciting hope in my heart for the institute of marriage.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Working for myself is the only true profession.

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be? A tree. Maybe I could live for a couple of centuries this time (If I don’t get chopped down first).

What do you consider your greatest achievement? Every day God blesses me to open my eyes is an achievement and a gift.

What is the trait you most deplore in others? LAZINESS. If you couldn’t tell, it’s a pet peeve. Especially in men.

[Eden] I knew that!

What is your greatest extravagance? Yeah right. Broke author over here! But I do like to splurge and go out for cheese fries sometimes.

What is one thing you want to do before you die? The generic answer is skydive. But it’s true! I want to skydive and then tour Japan and Australia, and go an African Safari. Oh…my bad…that’s like four things…

What is your favorite music (genre/artist/album/song)? I love alternative and indie rock. I absolutely love Kings of Leon and the indie band Paper Route.

What are some of your favorite curse words? Oh shit, that’s an awesome fucking question.

What is your motto? I’ve recently acquired a new one: Keep your heels, head, and standards HIGH. Done.

Thank you Diantha for being a wonderful guest just like I knew you would be. Good luck on the rest of your blog tour!

Readers, please say “hi” to this sassy woman and find her at all her social networks.  Isn’t she gorgeous?

Inside the Mind of Rae Spencer (@CeruleanMist)

Rae and I have been friends on social media for a long time, and I recall her twitter handle of @CeruleanMist first attracted me to follow her. I’m really happy I did.

Rae is a supportive author of erotic stories, and a lovely woman to know.

She calls herself a recluse, but she’s really quite friendly, so don’t miss out on learning more about her.

* * * *

Who is Rae?

Rae Spencer is an eclectic recluse and weirdo extraordinaire working as a paper-pusher living by a lake in Penn’s Woods. She’s a dreamy Libra, girly-girl rocker, butterfly lover, and coffee aficionado wrapped in a tiny package with a fetish for peanut M&M’s.

She is also the author of the erotica novellas “Beyond A Proposition,” “For Everything,” “Only You, Butterfly,” and the short story “Cigány Flame” included in the anthology Indulgence by LazyDay Publishing.

As an avid reader, Rae likes to get lost in the stories she reads and hopes those who read her stories can get lost in them in for a short time and leave the dredge of reality behind.

Inside Rae’s Mind

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Hmmmm… perfect happiness, is there such a thing? For me I think it would be a good relationship, where your partner is not just your lover and/or spouse but your best friend, confident, and companion all wrapped in one. It wouldn’t be perfect but would be as close as you can come.

What turns you on creatively? Music is a big turn on for me, a lyric can spur a story and well I’m a sucker for pictures and can get lost looking at them and they too can spur a lot of creativity. I particularly like looking at hot guys… what can I say old maid syndrome. :)

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Then… then kicks my but… big time.

What quality do you most admire in a man? Hands… yes, I know it’s strange, but I believe a man’s hands can tell a lot about him, his character, integrity, strength or lack thereof, and they fascinate me. It’s the first thing I look at when I meet a man. And of course, their handshake tells a lot. I don’t particularly like a man with sissy handshake, but hey, that’s just me, I like the almost Alpha type.

What quality do you most admire in a woman? Confidence… perhaps one would be willing to share some with me.

What is your greatest regret? Not following my heart in high school and going for a career in writing.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My teeth. They are my biggest vanity point and my most embarrassing feature. I am very self-conscious about them.

What is your greatest fear? Spending the rest of my life alone.

Which living person do you most admire? Wow, this is a tough one, and I really don’t have an answer. There are a lot of people who come to mind but there is no one person who sticks out as the person I admire the most.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I would like to model lingerie… just to say I did. J

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be? A butterfly. The freedom of their flight enchants me. I want to be free to fly and see the beauty of the world.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? Getting my kids to adult hood, they were and are handfuls.

What is the trait you most deplore in others? Cruelty to others. I’m a firm believer you should try to treat others as you would like to be treated, you will not always succeed, it’s not possible, there are always people you don’t like or get along with or situations that get under your skin, but it is the trying that is important.

What is your greatest extravagance? Silver Jewelry. I only wear silver, when it comes to metals. No gold or anything although occasionally you will see me with a string style necklace. I love to find new styles. Currently I am into high ear-clip style earrings and I love to wear rings and toe rings.

What is one thing you want to do before you die? I want to walk amongst the Heather in the Scottish Highlands on a breezy night where I can watch the sea slamming against the rocky shoreline.

What is your favorite music (genre/artist/album/song)? I am a rock chick to the core. I listen to some other genres but always come back to rock. I am a huge Nickelback and Breaking Benjamin fan and not a day goes by I don’t listen to at least one song from each.

What are some of your favorite curse words? Ass… when I don’t like something someone is doing, I usually call them an ass.

What is your motto? I am what I am, like me, hate me, but don’t try to change me.

Thank you Rae for being so honest and sharing of yourself with my readers.

Readers, please say “hi” to this beautiful woman and find her at all her social networks.

I first met Julia when I hopped on her blog and read her brilliant post “Fifty Shades of Ignorance.” I immediately fell in love with her style and quick wit. Like me, she grew up with the classics and even has a long list of books she recommends you read (In addition to hers of course ;) ).

Julia writes in multiple genres ranging from romantic suspense to science fiction to fantasy.

Please welcome her as she gives us a peek inside her mind.

Book description for Beauty and the Feast

Eva Raines is an uncomplicated country girl who’s all about food. Eva moves to the Napa Valley where her culinary skills come to the attention of the owners of a start-up and Eva finds her niche as a personal chef. Now all she needs is a man as perfect as her cooking, but she has serious doubts such a creature exists.

When wealthy entrepreneur, winery owner, and noted lothario, Gabriel Abbott, makes plans to seduce his flavor of the month, his assistant hires All Things to All People to cater a gourmet dinner. Eva expects to use her way with food to showcase the startup. What she unexpectedly discovers is that her culinary skills showcase far more. Gabriel Abbott finds himself seduced by her voice and the sensual flavors and textures of her food and his previous plans are quickly forgotten. He begins to obsess about meeting his little chef in person. He’s not alone. Once Eva hears Gabe’s voice and spends time in his home in the Napa Valley, she begins to wonder about the real man and her dreams of him are so hot they could ignite a barbecue.

When Eva and Gabe finally come face to face, the question is, how hot will their fire burn?

Inside Julia’s Mind

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Wow! So many things make me perfectly happy. Giving birth to my children, seeing their little faces for the first time, holding them in my arms.  Bliss.  Galloping on a horse across an open meadow. Spending time in the wilderness away from everything. My dog. A hawk circling above. My husband. I live in the moment so I guess pretty much everything gets a reaction from me. Let me put it this way… I don’t live my life in neutral.

What turns you on creatively? Activity switches on my brain. I tend to be scattered so I begin every day with a hike or a bike ride to settle myself. Usually I’m with my dog. He goes where I go. Cooking helps to get the juices moving, gardening, reading, a funny movie or a mystery. Since the days of reading Nancy Drew I’ve loved mysteries. A great mystery encourages you to think outside of the box.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Ack! I try so hard not to overuse words and phrases. To be honest, I don’t know. My readers could probably tell you. I’m sure I’m quite annoying!

What quality do you most admire in a man? Hmmm. What an interesting question. If I have to pick a single quality I guess I’d have to say honesty. But my husband possesses many qualities I admire.

What quality do you most admire in a woman? Another good question. Maybe sincerity.

What is your greatest regret? I have a rule about regret – ignore it.  If I pay attention to regret it will paralyze me. I don’t view regret as ‘regret’. I view it as a learning opportunity.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My butt. I hate my butt. Isn’t that stupid?

[Eden] Not at all. I’d say most women would agree. ;)

What is your greatest fear? Most things don’t bother me, but I do have difficulty standing on the edge of a cliff with a sheer drop of more than say… fifty feet. I’m not afraid of failure.  I’ve failed so many times in my life that I pay failure no mind.

Which living person do you most admire? I have a thing for James Earl Jones. If you asked me about the one famous person I’d like to meet it would be James Earl Jones. He’s an amazing actor and, hard to believe, a stutterer.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Oh, well, I’ve already worked in other professions.  I’m a registered nurse – worked ICCU, CCU and Hospice and as a childbirth educator.  I’m a pastry chef.  Owned a catering company and a restaurant. I’m a trained legal secretary. I’ve waitressed, sold women’s clothing—designed women’s clothing. The one thing I’d love to do?  Work with big cats, lions and tigers. Oh yes, no question about it.

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be? If I can come back as an animal, for sure a hawk. If I come back as a person – then by god I want to be a great singer and dancer. I so admire women with fabulous voices and legs that go all the way up to there.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? My children.

What is the trait you most deplore in others? Dishonesty.

What is your greatest extravagance? It may sound silly, but I get a facial once a month.  I have ethnic oily skin and my face tends to break out.  I found an amazing esthetician.  I call her my Nazi esthetician.  She beats my skin into shape and keeps it healthy.  She’s rough but damn good at what she does.

[Eden] OMG, that sounds painful!

What is one thing you want to do before you die? Oh, I’ve done so much.  Um… I don’t have a bucket list.  I can’t really answer this question.

What is your favorite music (genre/artist/album/song)? Now this question is loaded! I love so many kinds of music – Blues, Country, Rock and Roll, Folk, Rap, Classical, Jazz.  The best driving music is the Allman Brothers. Anything by the Allman Brothers.

What are some of your favorite curse words? I don’t think your readers want to hear me cuss because I can cuss like a truck driver.

What is your motto? Huh… do I have a motto?  I don’t believe I have a motto.  I guess if I do it’s this – The only thing you can take with you is love, so love well.

Thank you Julia for sharing of yourself with my readers, loved your answers!

Readers, please connect to Julia. She’s a lovely woman to know.

I’m married to the love of my life.  We have three amazing children.  I don’t just write; I’m a registered nurse, I’ve owned a catering company and restaurant, worked as a nanny, a secretary, a pastry chef, a waitress, an art teacher and a soccer coach – you name it, I’ve probably dabbled in it.  I love to travel and I believe I’ve visited all fifty states and a few places outside of the U.S.

So, besides hiking with my dog and riding horses (yum!), I love to cook and bake, read and write and sell books.
